Very little time to lift today but gonna smash through it best I can. Hot muggy day in a gym without aircon so might end up taking it a bit easy. We’ll see.

New belt didn’t arrive in time unfortunately. Auspost said it would arrive today but I guess they are full of shit

Sumo Deadlift 9x2 @ 177.5kg

My largely beltless training history and on and off belt usage hasn’t helped but if I’m gonna beat my nemesis I need every advantage I can get also because @FlatsFarmer told me to lol

Trying different positions and angling the belt up or down. Also working on breathing because it all goes together.

Hook grip and thumbs were pretty fucked today so did some mixed grip too. In future might have to limit total volume of hook grip with straps not just on high rep sets to save my thumbs.

Didn’t really have much success this session at all. Shitty deadlifts overall and belt wasn’t doing much. Can’t say I found any combination of belt and deadlifting to be beneficial. Beltless still feels better at least for now. Better start position maybe but might take some freeze frames of vids to compare.

Actually on looking at some pics is close enough. Feels different though maybe easier to get into and

Comp Bench 7x5 @ 85kg

Nothin really to mention for bench except actually a bit fatigued for today’s workout so not rated at 1/10 for once.

Ran out of time for squats but managed to get blasted by a rain storm on the way out. Guess I don’t need to shower tonight lol

Also meet date has been pushed forward to mid next year instead of a quarter way into next year. More time better for me anyways

Man, I’m just kinda taking a shot in the dark here…

I see you get your hands on the bar then drop into your pull. This means you have to get your hip position and brace correct and tight “on the fly” or while your body is moving. If your brace and pelvic tilt are a little inconsinstant trying to brace while moving could add a slight degree of difficulty.

Have you tried the less sophisticated style, where you get everything set tight, then lower yourself down. Then, while you’re down there, without rushing, you maintain your tightness/pelvic tilt/brace and use the bar to get into even better position. Once you’re sure everything is legit, Then you pull.

Actually been trying to diet down a bit to make the meet but since that has been pushed back to mid next year instead of 1/4 way into next year my be more relaxed with the food. 3 extra months is a long time. I could maintain for a bit and make some gains then diet again.

Might go on a trip with the girlfriend date TBD but might get sexier for that too

Apparently fuck sake. I was keen as for that yesterday too.

Happy with the purchase overal though.

Maybe in the future I would’ve bought an SBD Belt full price $300+ if I had plenty of cash saved up as a treat but a “Pioneer” Belt for $150, just as good or better than the SBD, IPF approved and shit so no worries and saved one fiddy to spend on KFC
