I say shields beats gsp and then should go back to the weight he was when he fought henderson and fight silva. Like gsp said if he goes up he is not coming back down and I think that was jakes problem he put on the size for 185 and couldn’t cut in the 12 weeks he had for his first ufc fight.

I’d like to see GSP move up.
He’s cleaned out the WW division: no one there even comes close.[/quote]
At 5’10" GSP would be one of the smallest guys in the mw division. Any strength advantages that he has at ww are automatically gone. He also suffers a reach disadvantage which will work against him when it comes to striking. His size disadvantage will also work against his grappling as well, take downs ground leverage etc. It’s easy to say that GSP should move up because he is so dominant at ww but he is so dominant for a reason. To think that he can move up to mw and beat someone like Silva who is used to competing at that weight and has a great size advantage on GSP is asking a lot. I’m not saying he wouldn’t do well against some of the mw, I have a great amount of respect for GSP’s ability and intelligence. In fact, he is one of my favorite fighters for those reasons and the fact that he’s not a tatooed blue haired sideshow freak. But I don’t think he’d have a lot of success in the mw division.
GSP will out wrestle him for the decision.
I think Zeb and I are agreeing again- this is spooky.
I see Anderson Silva moving up more successfully then GSP-
due to his frame.
Georges, is excellent on all fronts, but I don’t think the power, and athletic advantages he enjoys almost over everyone at WW
would carry over well to middle weight He would suffer a reach disadvantage
Im not so sure he would loose out on power or strength to all the middleweights and he would
have speed over some-but fighting a naturally larger opponent
does take a toll.
Anderson is also better- then anyone at welterweight.
perhaps the GOAT or close to it, his striking , hand speed
and accuracy are fantastic, throw in great footwork and head movement
some good BJJ and its a hard combo for anyone.
GSP would do fine at Middleweight- he might not beat Silva
He might not.
he would have some very good fights, and he would also add some losses to his career.
takes away the luster when someone one goofy like Okami ,
who could easily fight at 205 might just blanket and beat on GSP enough to win.
This kind of super fight seems like a great idea- until there are two belts tied up-
and no clear strategy for any aftermath.
what might be prudent is for AS to move up and GSP to contently reign at welter weight.
