Yeah, that website is pretty good…lots of good interviews and training vids. It keeps up with the amateur and small organization fight scene pretty well.

I’m not white, I’m not really in Japan and I you watch ESPN classic with your gramps and reminisce about the good ol’ days and how today’s NBA players can’t compare.

Dude, I know ball. I’ve played with several NBA players. Lebron James is a freak, and he’s the first player with those physical gifts that’s actually a serious ballplayer, not just an athlete. But, there have been more athletic players. Not many, but they’re still out there. Boss, I apologize for derailing this thread.

Great find!

Funnily enough, when speaking in “bodybuilding” lingo, I find that while Nate has more thickness (except legs, where GSP displays amazing, almost figure-competitor-like curvature and sweep), George has amazing width.

HOLY CRAP!!! Dude I go to school there, University of Northern Colorado. I can’t GSP was at my school training!!!

Shane Carwin is a volunteer wrestling coach here, and a few UFC fighters train here sometimes (Marquardt, Schaub, etc) but they keep that stuff on the down low. The only way I find out is through videos like this and Facebook. I asked their assistant wrestling coach if I could strength train with them, which of course he said no.

Anyways, for the vid, GSP wrestling is nice, and yeah he’s looking thick. Nate walks around at ~220, so I’m guessing GSP is 200 lbs in this vid?

Good find Boss, preciate ya sharing it.

I noticed that too right away. I wonder how often the wrestling team works with them.

I think Nate trains with the team once a week, same with Brendan Schaub from TUF.

Unfortunately they didn’t work very much on the standup in this video… Sonnen tooled him on the ground. He just held him there the whole time. It’ll be good to see him come back from this though. Lesson learned

I think Anderson Silva is much better than Marquardt at getting off the mat though, correct me if I’m wrong, so Sonnen won’t be having a repeat performance (if AS beats Vitor that is).

That is pretty damn cool. I know one wrestler up at UNC. He used to be our high school’s 125lb.
