Growth Surge Phase II

What’s up Forumites? I need some advice.

I’m currently a sophmore in High School and play offensive/defensive line for my school’s football team(6’1", 235, 15-20% bf depending on method used to measure). I’m designing a strenght training program for the summer months, in order to hit the 250-265# range at 10% bodyfat. I have been seriously training for about 2 1/2 years, following the team’s program, but want to take my training a step further using info gathered here at T-Mag.

Now for the Question: During the last two months of June and all of July i plan on embarking on the Growth Surge project. I understand doing cardio during phase II would be counterproductive, but i have a dilemna. I have been doing positional training(Those familiar with line play, running a grid. IE: go through the footwork etc involved) constantly, and don’t want to become out of shape during the Growth Surge. I usually limit this to about 20min a day. Would this be considered cardio, and be counter-productive? SHould i just up the calories to account for this, or break it into two 10 min training sessions?

Thanks,
Rob
