I live in Winnipeg and this doesn’t really surprise me, sadly. I hear about this kind of stuff all the time.
A couple of days ago a 15 year old boy was buried alive in hot asphalt and a year ago (I think) or something a crippled guy was put into a shed by pre-teens, the shed was locked, and then set on fire. Luckily he survived, but that’s a different story.
I wish the best to his family (the victim), and I hope the guy that did this gets put away for good.

Bauer, same here. While in college, I once took a Greyhound from Philly to Jasper, Indiana (to visit my parents over Christmas). When I arrived, my face was covered with zits. Of course this was back in the day when smoking was allowed on the buses.

You have no idea how much I wish that we could do that. There is no justice for the victims anymore. The most that we can hope for is that they lock him up in a rubber room forever and never let him out.

All in all, I think the people involved couldn’t have done a better job under the circumstances and I’m sorry they had to go through what they did.
How could you possibly lead a normal life after something like this?

I thought this was an accident? The kid was a memeber of the road crew and I remember reading some of the crew burned their hands trying to dig him out. Not much you can do though.
Some other shocking news in Canada, maybe you guys have heard about it but recently there was a kid in hamilton that was hit by a car while on his bike, guys in the car got out, robbed his buddy who was also on a bike, and then dragged him under the car for 600 meters until he dislodged, I think his hip bone got shaved down pretty bad if I remember correctly. They had him in induced coma for a while.
Some scumbag lawyer will get him off by pleading insanity even though the guy was apparently sane enough to surrender to the police. Too bad they didn’t make swiss cheese out of his sorry ass and spare the taxpayers the expense of a trial and incarceration.
I wish we had the right to bear arms. Even though it looks like it wouldn’t have helped.
My brother took the greyhound from Vancouver to Winnipeg just a few weeks ago.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that as an accident.
The same shit kinda happened with my sister’s boyfriend’s cousin. He was working on a gas station when somebody drove off without paying. He tried to stop them, but the crook ran him over and dragged him pretty long until his whole face was stripped off. It left a blood trail. One of the worst ways to die.
It seems Canada has some brutal murders.
