I’ve heard that travelling by inter-city bus is safe. Hmmmm…
Greyhound reviewing bus security after beheading
Greyhound is reviewing security on its buses after a young man travelling to Winnipeg late Wednesday was stabbed to death and then decapitated in what appears to be a random act of violence.

Beheaded. Interesting… No description of the perp.
Crazy Canadians Eh? I’m glad I live down here in nice, safe and sane Boston. Of course they’ll probably find out that looney was just visiting from the states. Hell, I might know the dude!
It sounds like the locals handled the situation quite well. If it had happened down here everyone would have likely run screaming.
Wow…that’s all I’m gonna say.
I HATE greyhound. Dirty smelly and never on schedule. Once i lost my ticket and they wouldnt give me another ticket even though i paid for it with credit card and had the card on me at the time. Had to buy another one just cause of stupid schemes to make money in a tanking industry. Bet a t-man wouldnt have been beheaded
Depending on which route you travel, taking Greyhound can often be a harrowing experience. There’s something about the smell of fried chicken being eaten from aluminum foil mixing with the stench of urine that makes me, well, want to throw up. It’s been many moons, since I have had the experience, but I know a young woman who got her jaw broke from a punch she took from a guy, a complete stranger, during a trip from California to Michigan.

ummm…he was asleep…then was woken up by repeated stabs to the throat… Pretty hard to recover and fight someone off w/ a pierced jugular…
A bus ride is nothing to lose your head over.
Scary, crazy people everywhere.

The minister said he’s not entertaining any notion of registering knives as dangerous weapons given that millions of kitchen knives alone are sold annually.[/quote]
Who in the hell asked that question?

Even more-so on the least expensive mode of transportation available.
When I was a freshman in college and didn’t have a car, I used to take Greyhound home during holiday breaks. I felt like I needed to take a shower in rubbing alcohol after those trips.

More than likely, a reporter:
Reporter: “Mr. Minister, what does the government intend to do to combat the knife threat? Will you consider knife registration to combat this serious threat to the health and safety of the bus-travelling Canadian public?”
Minister: (under breath, “Fucktard”) “No, that would not work, given that millions of kitchen knives alone are sold annually.”
There is a significant portion of the Canadian public that believes that every sort of danger can be legislated against.
Random acts of violence are just that … random and unpredictable. If the big-ass hunting or combat knife is outlawed, then the crazies will start packing the Wusthof or Henckels chef’s special.

Unfortunately there is a significant portion of the US public that believes the same.

CA style would mean 11 day wait, dros fees, registration fees and Private party fees if you bought it used.
Imagine buying a used knife for 5 dollars at a garage sale and end up paying 150 dollars to register it.
That’s insane.
Ship that fucker down to Texas where they know what to do with nutsos like that.
I’ve been on many a Greyhound bus trip - this story does not surprise me.
