Prosecutor: Mr. Chappelle, what would it take to convince you that R. Kelly is guilty?
Dave Chappelle: Okay, I’d have to see a video of him singing “Pee On You,” two forms of government ID, a police officer there to verify the whole thing, four or five of my buddies and Neal taking notes, and R. Kelly’s grandma to confirm his identity.
R. Kelly’s Grandma: That’s my Robert, always peeing on people.

lol, dude I miss that show so much.

And I still say it’s a strong lift, and OP has wide testicles and should stick around and keep making progress.

I understand all of that(about organs ect.) and I appreciate your attempt at patronizing me, but wouldnt you agree that a 75lb weight difference is a lot bigger discrepancy than a 4 inch height difference when it comes to lifting?

Probably…but its not like I am sitting at the cusp of height/weight requirements of 500 pound squatters either, right?..I’m not thing special…there is probably a wide berth in between the two that would enable one to hit the quarter ton milestone…

But that’s not really the point of this thread is it? I jumped in with my comment because, yet again, there seems to be an overabundance of people on a weightlifting site that bears the moniker “intelligent and relentless pursuit of muscle” that just don’t seem to know that many strong/muscular people…

A 500 squat really is nothing extraordinary, so I’m not sure why a thread that started out as HEY THESE IDIOTS ARE SO WEAK THEY THINK THAT “I” TAKE STEROIDS turns into YOUR HEIGHT/WEIGHT RATIO DOESNT SUPPORT THE HYPOTHESIS THAT YOU CAN SQUAT 500 POUNDS AND I WILL REQUIRE DATA TO THE CONTRARY TO REEVALUATE MY CONCLUSION…

That, my friend, is what I consider ridiculous…and again, I’m quickly realizing it is just par for the course for these GAL discussions…I really wish I had the willpower to not click on interesting looking topics on the homepage…
[/quote]

A legitimate 500 squat (below parallel) @ 250lbs or below is extraordinary without supportive equipment and drug free. I’ve seen my share of 700lb “powerlifting meet” squatters with their suits struggle with 500, just as I’ve seen “500lb equipped benchers” fail to bench 350 raw. I competed for the better part of 10 years, did I fail to meet all the strong people too?

You do realize that to the extent that you know a bunch of legit, sub 250lb, unequipped, drug free squatters, that they are a subset of the general gym going population and that in and of itself makes them extraordinary.

A qualifying total in the ADFPA, @ 242, in the lifetime drug free division is 1500lbs. The foregoing is WITH the allowed supportive gear. From this we can safely extrapolate some rough estimates of those lifts for such a guy (I know there can be deviation - great squat or bench, but I’m talking over a large average) would be a squat and deadlift north of 500, but less than 600 and a bench north of 300 but less than 400 - AND THIS IS EQUIPPED.

So really, how many guys south of 250lbs are squatting 500?

OP good luck with the 500. Post the vid when you hit it. Nice lifting and great lift.

so random… and so funny

Just got back from the gym, unfortunately, 500 was beyond my abilities. Just stuck in the hole. I dont want to make excuses, but the last 4 days I had diarrhea, so it probably didnt help a lot. So yeah waylander, YOU WON! :stuck_out_tongue:

When your numbers are moving early on, you think…meh, another 50lbs is nothing. But remember, it’s not an insignificant jump. Just keep plugging away, intelligently. That’s all you can do…train hard, train intelligently, and eat right. It will either come or not. Based on your age (chronological and training) it should come for you. Good luck.

Lol at all the argument shit. a guy 5-6 inches taller than me, weighing about the same, hitting a 500 lbs raw squat would be pretty good. A) he only squatted a bit over 450 in the video B) he had knee wraps C) he even admitted to missing the 500 lbs squat today D) why does anyone care so much? I mean if he was a regular poster, constantly handing out bad info to new trainees, that would be one thing…but a guy that barely posts throws out some numbers in a GAL thread and everyone’s got their panties in a bunch? Damn guys.

Well, h4m, its GAL… obviously the majority of posters in here don’t have one.

It seems that the raw 405 bench the 500 squat and the 600 deadlift are just the numbers everyone out there wants to have because they are the numbers that it seems like no one will laugh at. I grew up down the road from a serious gym and below parallel 500 squats weren’t ever a joke or insignificant even to guys squatting 6+ in a belt. I think everyone demands proof of 500lb squats because the majority of guys just can’t do them and it makes you feel better to prove that whatever guy can’t as well. It’s a shame because it removes some of the elation of getting your first 405 bench 500 squat or 600 deadlift to have people tell you they aren’t impressive even though they probably can’t do it themselves.

And yet you still felt the need to reiterate how he missed the 500 squat and he was wearing knee wraps? You’re doing the same shit we are!

This is why you shouldn’t seek satisfaction and/or the approval of others on an internet forum.

Here is and the video…The squat was high and a fail.

Definetely, it will come. It’s just that 205 went up relatively easy, that I thought I had this…In a month we will see again
