Going to Join Foreign Military...

As much as it sucks in your case, I really don’t think it’s a mistake for the US military forces to refuse volunteers with a history of mental illness.

We’ve all watched Full Metal Jacket, right?

Yeah sorry mate, mentally unstable is a no go in my books. Yes, it’s unfair that ex-criminals who you can claim have a mental issue may get in, but this doesn’t make “fuck it, let anyone in” acceptable.

Look spartan -LOVE YOUR NICK…-, Being in actual service in a foreign army corp -I’m not living in Argentina, but this page even have my country name…LOL- I can give you and very humble advice, army is not an escape point, If you like it, go for it, but not search for it as an escape point or a valvle…
Best advice? going to “LEGION EXTRANGERE” allez vous et apprenez le francaise, enjouer la vie et voila!

(My best bet? just make an appoinment for the french legion, they almost accept everyone -if you could pass theyr physical exam… (and if you can speak or learn spanish, the french is very similar)
Mucha suerte con tu escape!

En el ejercito de cual nacion sirves?

Make sure you are choosing this path with some clear thought and not because things are tough and you want to “escape” them. That kind of thinking leads you to handcuffing yourself to a pistol. I’m all for adventure but I have found that I enjoyed adventures that I embraced a lot more than those I stumbled into avoiding the pain in the ass moments of real life.

Just a foreign nation… I used to serve in the army for around three years, now I’m a military police officer.

(I’m writing in an american forum, that’s why im writing you back in english, just for respect to the other readers. As you can see in my avatar, i’m dressed how i used to work for riot control)

BTW I don’t want to talk about that here, I’m feel a little uncomfortable talking about that right over here. But I encourage you to do it, only if you like it -joining in the army-. Shooting a gun and killing people is not an easy task my friend, now you are in the land of the opportunities -America-. So you must get the most of it, here in sudamerica (USA backyard…LOL) thing are a way too different

Once again, keep on it, and I put my best bet for the french foreign legion, they make no questions, just get the enough money for the passage back to your country if you can’t pass the physical exam.

Saludos y fuerza mi amigo, en tiempos difíciles la fuerza se demuestra levantándose ,no importando que tan fuerte te golpee la vida…

It’s a very stressful environment im not saying he will but what if some one that has ahd break downs in the past cracks in the heat of battle and gets his mates killed or just goes nuts at a nco on the shooting range and blows some ones head off.

The week before I got to basic some kid shot himself in the head at the range. All the windows on the second floor of the lines (where u sleep) had bars because some kid a few years before i got there hung himself

It might be worth ordering a background check on yourself. I was unemployed for quite a while because of a mistake on mine. I didn’t figure it out until an honest HR rep that I had a great rapport with broke their policies to tell me what was going on.

How’s your credit? I don’t think a bank will care about your medical history, but they will pull your credit.

Anyone know what happened this guy?

Maybe hes in Spain but most likely hes just looking for attention from another board.

It seems pretty fucked up that a U.S. citizen would even consider joining a foreign military.

Did the op even say what he did that was so fucked up, i dont beleive psychiatric evaluations would show up in a background check, and he said he was involved with a scheme, although i do not doubte the op’s instability. My guess is a Lautenberger Offense r Statutory rape the sytem doesnt fuck around with those.

LOL awesome!!!

Wait, wait…

Ok, SpartanX, what on Earth did you ever do?
Nobody on this forum knows who you are, and if anybody knows, he probably also knows what you did.

If you say that it’s considered heinous only and only in Anglo-American culture, it’s probably ok…and also, people on this forums have shared much uglier tales… so, tell us, what did you do? You didn’t kill anyone, of what I understand, raped no-one, didn’t commit arson, didn’t deal drugs, didn’t maim old women/men /babies… WHAT did you do?

Then, maybe people here won’t say you’re a whiner etc. And you’ll have confirmation the recruiters and the law are retarded in America, or that maybe just maybe what you did was worse than you consider it…

Anybody here have dual citizenship, and are required to perform military service in the other country(not USA)? I was born in the United States but I have Turkish citizenship as well. And I am required to do 15 months of military service if I don’t get a degree and 5 months I believe if I do get a degree. It sucks though because I can hardly speak any turkish.

If anybody is interested. I know a little about the FFL from the outside (thank God). The FFL will give you a new name and French citizenship. You will learn sufficient French from them or suffer the immediate physical consequences. In fact, there are immediate and escalating consequences for any failure. Leaving the FFL is not an option until the enlistment is finished. Not a good deal unless: a) you desperately need citizenship in a richer country than your own and have no other options (that is why there are a surprising number of Mongolians in the FFL) or b) are fleeing arrest or worse. You might also want to consider the number of fatal “training accidents” suffered by FFL enlistees who somehow annoyed FFL officers or noncommissioned.

Why not join the US military and then if they throw you out you could join a lesser fighting force. The United States of America has the greatest military the world has ever seen. Why join a crappier fighting force? Your excuses for not joining the Marines sound like your just scared to do work. As for not liking our lifestyle in the USA, its a free country you can live whatever lifestyle you see fit as long as it doesnt hurt others.

I was a plain old Airborne Infantryman but one can advance their career in the US Army as far as one chooses to push ones self.

Not to mention we as a military uphold the Constitution and not some faggot king. The USA is the greatest country on earth and contrary to the liberal media we advance the cause of human rights across the globe. Iraq and Afhganistan were about removing some fucked up people from power. The US is not perfect but anyone who doesnt like it here can fuck off and flee south across the mexican border.

As always God bless our troops and all decent Americans…

well if you think you’re up for the task of joined a foreign legion, why not try to join a high speed US military unit?

why not join the army? get pipelined in as a 18x or ranger?

i assure you that you will not have to deal with the “near retards that can barely pass the asvab”

those ‘near retards’ btw, serve their country so you can sit here and bullshit on this board. and so you or your sister or mother doesn’t have to go overseas.[/quote]
bump this all day, calling the men and women of our military while your punk ass types on a computer is bullshit. Im guessing your just scared cause its pretty fucking easy to go see a recruiter if you really want to join.

Or way easier to talk about joining some weak ass foreign legion but never do it.

Fuck you spartan X

I cannot believe you flame on ex alcoholics, immigrants etc… these people defend your freedom.

Whats your mistake asshole? touching kids?
