Going to Join Foreign Military...

I am disenchanted with my station in the USA, I don’t like our style of living and am tired of our socio-political environment.

I would join the US Military but am certain things in my past would probably get me booted out before six months.
I’d really like to start over.

I have the ability to obtain a Latin American nation’s citizenship due to my lineage, and speak fluent Spanish.

I am going to get my papers together, apply for a VISA to go to Spain, go there and join the Spanish Legion.

I will do my time there and move on, I am really interested in starting over completely.

No past, only present and future.

LOL

good luck with that buddy.

sorry…but how old are you?

Right…

21

You might want to review their UCMJ, pay scale, promotion path etc before you sign into anything and cannot change your mind.

personally, if you’re going to go out of the states, i’d go ALL OUT.

FFL for life, baby!

I don’t know their UCMJ, nor the promotion path however the payscale is 19k usd a year for private. It has all the benefits of US military, ie get to save all your money while in basically. No bonuses for sign-up tho.

As for FFL, I don’t speak French, and I don’t want to be in for 5 years.

Umm, good luck with that.

From wikipedia:

Today acceptance to the Spanish Legion is based on the following criteria[1]:

* Be a Spanish citizen
* Be a citizen in good legal standing
* Not be deprived of civil rights
* Be at least 18 years of age and not be turning 28 on the year you are joining
* Be able to pass psycho, physical, and medical evaluations

Wikipedia versus their actual website…I wonder who is right.

you know i don’t speak spanish baxter

If you have “things in your past” that would definitely get you booted out of U.S. military…what slack will be given that will not allow the same to happen in Spanish Legion??

Because they won’t background check me for shit in the USA. Thing about USMC see is, alot of shit goes under radar when they enlist you, and then four months later it shows up once your number gets called on background check in that dep’t.

You get an appointment, get told you got fraudelent enlistment, because you did not disclose things that would block you from enlistment. You find yourself on the next to worse charge than dishonorable discharge, and back where you started off, + plus disgrace, and minus a good chunk of your year.

I’d rather just avoid that whole ordeal, as I know I’ll get rejected from USMC if I’m upfront or any other service. So it’s better just to go to another country than be a permanent pariah in my own.

I’ve always wanted to serve in the military, but if I can’t do it here, then I guess this isn’t the place I should be.

My country will allow exfelons, former drug users, former alcholics, exgang members, sloppy fucks, barely legal immigrants, near retards who can barely pass the asvab to join their service. But they will not let me, join for one stupid fucking mistake, I commited in my life.

I am physical fit, intelligent, honorable, strong mentally, and willing to dedicate myself to this way of life. They still would rather have Tyrone the exgangmember with the slangin’ charge.

So I’d rather be done with it, it kind of empitimozes everything that is wrong about this place. Better to move on than mope or be second class.

Interpol ain’t nothing to fuck with.

well if you think you’re up for the task of joined a foreign legion, why not try to join a high speed US military unit?

why not join the army? get pipelined in as a 18x or ranger?

i assure you that you will not have to deal with the “near retards that can barely pass the asvab”

those ‘near retards’ btw, serve their country so you can sit here and bullshit on this board. and so you or your sister or mother doesn’t have to go overseas.

Trust me, I’ll be alright.

Like I said, after six months when the bleep pops on their background check, I’ll get booted from any US service.

Go french foreign legion.

Dude are you medicated?
