quick question - has anyone gone from consuming whey protein to casein and noticed a difference in strength or fat loss? just curious, as i regularly use whey but wanted to get a higher quality protein however it is more expensive. Thanks!
Really wont make a difference.
Casein is slower to digest while Whey is digested and absorbed fast.
This will make a difference.
I switched a year ago.
Love it. TC wrote about it sometime ago.
But at the end of the day, it’s protein. Yes, I feel fuller, but it’s not a magic bullet.
I switched, because it fits my lifestyle. As it is my first meal, I needed something to substain me until my second breakfast mid morning.
I switched years ago and much preferred the slower acting powder - mine tasted better also. Less bloating than WPI for me personally but all I do these days is eat proper food
it’s going to make absolutely no difference in terms of real world results
okay thanks for the input - don’t want to get suckered into something more expensive if it won’t yield any results
Casein shouldnt be that much more expensive. It is a much slower digesting protein than whey. You can do both. Whey after your workout and casein at night before bed. it will help keep you in a positive protein balance during sleep. Just be careful if you mix it with milk, basically turns to custard…
I used Casein powder for a while and it caused major bloating and breakouts for me … Back on whey protein. An interesting note: Whey protein from North American cows is type A1 milk. Regular milk (In North America is usually A1 milk) and contains both A1 and A2 beta-casein, but A2 milk (most European Cows) contains only A2 beta-casein. A1 milk has been associated with higher Casein side effects. Something to keep in mind when buying a whey protein.
