A friend of mine is telling me that:
“There is no difference between Whey and Caseon in (or- so what is whey digests faster ? )”
can u guys give me a research that proves him wrong ?

Dude… can you please write a coherent sentence? You’re not going to get an answer if no one can decipher your post.
Whey protein is absorbed more quickly than Casein, making it beneficial for post workout drinks.
Casein is slow digesting making it ideal for before bed shakes. Casein also helps in MRP to keep you filling fuller, I suggest using google and looking for some articles, or perhaps the search button here.
i may get flamed for this, but i imagine the difference to be quite marginal
it would be nice to see a twins study or something where they train the same protocol and one is given only whey, and the other only casein.
i do believe you are correct about quickness, but long run, i dont see it making much of a difference
Think about it, if its slower absorbing, it releases slower into the body, giving it a constant feed.
Its like your car, you give it gas to go all the time(casein), but you use nitro for a quick boost(whey).
If your friend persists, counter with the statement that there is no difference between any foods… after all, don’t they all just contain calories.
Anyhow, to be even sillier about it, if there was no difference between the two substances they wouldn’t have different names, would they?

i think what his friend probably means is that there is no noticeable diference in the results you will see from using one or the other. if the friend does mean this, he is probably correct
Without having any research to back this up, I would imagine the size difference (casein proteins outweigh whey proteins in cow’s milk by 4 to 1), as well as the caseins’ tendency to clump together (curds) would make them a little more difficult for the body to digest, sort of like the difference between digesting a simple carb and a complex carb.
(I’m just speculating on this.)

Your friend is very wrong…here are some studies
But I wouldn’t hold my breath…I doubt your friend values that pesky thing called science.

that first link shows casein to be far far better, wow, im really surprised
In particular…
This significant difference in body composition and strength is likely due to improved nitrogen retention and overall anticatabolic effects caused by the peptide components of the casein hydrolysate.
The fact that casein consumption allows aminos to enter into the bloodstream over time means that the body won’t have to catabolize the muscles as often due to low blood levels of amino acids.
Many processes in the body are driven by levels of various substances… so rates of digestion, absorption or clearance can be very important.
This doesn’t make one protein better than another, it just means you need to take into account how the body utilizes them for various goals.
Though cow’s milk is roughly 80/20, casein/whey, human mother’s milk is closer to 50/50. Just something to keep in mind if you’re into customizing blends.
So i guess he isn’t wrong…
and the only reason to buy Whey is because its cheap and very convenient, you dont have to chew.
mmm…those studies mentioned were on casein HYDROSOLATE whey HYDROSOLATE.
Those aren’t exactly the same as Miscellar and WPC.
True. You can take the rate of absorption properties of each out of the equation since both whey hydroslate and casein hydroslate are absorbed very quickly. It’s merely a difference of amino acid profiles.

im pretty sure there is a slower digesting protein…animal protein like eating chicken before bed. these studies are also jsut protein by themselves. pre bed casien is stupid. a meal high in fat will digest a whole hell of a lot slower then casein

How is pre-bed casein stupid??? Pre-bed casein is the law. It’s slower digesting than animal protein – it gels up in your gut and breaks down over the course of 6-8 hours.

Add some peanut butter or olive oil to your cottage cheese… and read up on this stuff a little bit before taking such a firm stand on the topic…
