Awesome news Pete!
Hope you have a cigar saved.
Perdomo, first half with a couple of beers while grilling rib eyes. second half will be with some Maker’s Mark, something I haven’t tasted in a year+

Congrats! That is great news. Hopefully that Maker’s Mark will wash some of that bad taste out of your mouth left from the lotion and thongs.

Jack, I didn’t get close enough to get that taste in my mouth. Honestly. Although it might have appeared odd to them, if they noticed a guy almost running up to where they were six times in a row.

And the Maker’s Mark is washing away a lot of bad things. A real paycheck will wash away more.

Congratulations on the job. You must be feeling pretty high right now.

To celebrate, I think you need to get into that squat suit you mentioned and post some videos. Seriously. why not go full gear for the October meet. What kind of suit is it?

I hope you get your back problem sorted out. I’ve had lower back problems off and on for the past 6 months. The origin of mine are a desk job. It’s the worst freaking thing for your back; sitting on your ass all day. I’ve set up a drafting table in my office to do a lot of work standing.

Seriously, congrats on the job.

Some things can’t be unseen.

Congratulations on the job front, that is great news.

2 mile hilly walk. felt good just to move and relax at the same time. 90+degrees and humid, left the St Bernard at home, took the American Bulldog. He and I haven’t had one on one time in quite a while. He acts very differently alone.

well, kinda ruined mine too. well not really. My weekend is going to be awesome… because I got a JOB. A good paying one, very good paying one, and I start Monday…
Damn good news!

is it the one you interviewed for in Philly? but work locally?

Congratulations, Pete. That is very good news!

thanks strick, and George. No this is the one I interviewed with, kind of, 6 weeks ago, very large multinational kinda corp. Apparently I did not get that one to no fault of my own. They changed their minds on the position itself. Then they had this other position open, someone hired for it cancelled last minute, I got the call, did 2 phone interviews, and am now starting Monday. Head still spinning. Oh, plus it is about a 20k boost over the previous job I interviewed for. It is a consultant to perm kinda position, so we shall see where it goes. I am comfortable that I can make them love my large ass though…

Its funny how things work out. I’m just stoked that you got a great job. I know the waiting sucked, but it sounds like it worked out for the best.

so I celebrated a little last night. Around midnight while I was making a drink the wife reminded me that I was benching this morning. My response was ā€˜yeah, but it is raw so it won’t be too bad.’ Not really great logic but it went ok.

Warm ups then raw 2 board: 320 x 3, 370 x 3, 410 x 3, 430 x 3 (PR).

close grip 3 board 320 x 6, 390 x 3, just ran out of gas a that point.

CSRs 6 or 7 sets of 10

band press downs 5 x 20

pull aparts 5 x 15

CONGRATS!!

Are they paying you in bananas?

20 minutes elliptical, just to try and wake myself up. Now time to shower, shave, and get off to work!!

You got to shave to work at Mcdonalds?..LOL.

Congrats Big Pete

What is this new postion?

Fischer, project manager position.

Decided to deload this week while I get adjusted. Good plan as I felt bit to pieces after 9 hours of meetings. Went to commercial gym, did this:

Foam roll
stretch
low box box squat up to 365 x 3
ghr times some
leg raise times some

that was it. Meet prep starts next week

30 minutes elliptical this morning. This week is going to be hectic. Also, Murphy’s Law, got called on 4 jobs yesterday.

Nice 2 board there. Your strong like an ox.

10 hour work day, then went and interviewed at another company. Then found a gym nearby to wait out rush hour. Did the following in a half hour.

CG Bench worked up to 330 x 6, easy, not to failure.
laterals 35s x 8, 45s x 8, 55s x 8
then a whole bunch of curls, tricep work, and delt work. high reps with little rest, just to make the muscles and joints feel good. These week is sucky for training, my version of a deload.

I am exhausted. Hard adjusting to not being with my little boy everyday. I will honestly admit that I cried Monday being away from him. Need to win the lottery…

Nice deload, Pete. And I completely understand about being away from the little one. Every morning that he begs me not to go to work just breaks my heart.
And yes, I do buy lottery tickets, just for that reason.
