Going Bananas

Right now I take fish oil, 600mg ibu pre training, plus eat a ton of berries daily. I am putting myself back on an icing regiment, for forearms, shoulders, elbows, knees. Heat for back. And redial in the foam roller for everything.

Fecken Favre. He let his ego get in the way at the end. Go figure. I would have taken a trip to the super bowl off a 1 point win.

Did nothing the last day and a half aside from sleep alot, eat a ton, drink a little bourbon, and ice my aches. Oh, and clean up my resume, pick up my new suit, and go grocery shopping.

Regarding the rp calves, yeah, couple days later they are both sore and swole. Mine dropped from 21.5 inches at 250lb body weight it about 19 at 270. Gotta turn that around. Figure this might get me back there quick. Wanna show sexy legs when in my tight singlet:)

Give em hell tomorrow, Pete! Better go watch “Stepbrothers” to help hone your interview techniques.

Thanks Jack. I am very relaxed about it. Shit, it’s a headhunter, they need me. that being said I am wearing a $300 pair of shoes and a $5k watch (my daddy’s rolex) to the interview, but my main intention is to a) be wary of what they might be trying to sell me and b) make sure they want to work FOR me.

I was also thinking of Spud in Trainspotting, when he was forced to go on job interviews and took a bunch of speed to appear both eager but be sure to blow it all at once… hmmm.

Jack, how is your search going?

Shit, I haven’t seen Trainspotting in a long time. That “dirtiest toilet” scene was over the top.

My search is complicated. I have some things in the works here, but I need to get licensed. The test is at the end of Feb., then another month or so for results. I am chomping at the bit to get going, but my hands a tied somewhat.

It’s a classic, both the book and the movie. My Scottish heritage and punk roots make me appreciate it. Plus I hung out with enough dirtbags in my life where a lot of it rings true.

I was trying to explain to my 71 year old mother that when you are trying for a job above ‘teller’ or ‘server’ you can’t just go door to door looking for work. That it is a process.

Good luck today Pete. I’m 1/8 Scottish. So I can’t be all bad, right?

Eco, you ain’t all bad.

‘Interview’ was what I suspected, they are selling me placement service at the professional level. They have a very high success rate. Find out the prices Wednesday.

Did 25 minutes elliptical this a.m. Ate a lot of crap this weekend, got a good bloat going. Back to eating clean today.

Do you have to pay up front? They should get a commission from the employer if they place you, if they are confident they can place you they should be willing to take that fee or refund some of the up front fee. Also, most of the recruiters I know are hurting right now and almost without exception they are all willing to negotiate their fee.

Pete usually when my wife uses a head hunter- the employer pays,
the head hunter usually gets a percentage of your starting salary

Pete likes to workout his own payment plans… under the table.

A headhunter who charges you to provide placement opportunities is not worth the money you pay him. He’s basically robbing you.

Useful headhunters are paid by the companies looking to obtain employees and should not charge you at all.

I just found Petes’ youtube channel - who knew

i didn’t realize that Pete was such the curler… very thuggish.

Come back eight hours and I am at the top of the page. Wow. I feel loved.

Meat, there is stuff I don’t include in my log. Such as all those curls. And I always go to negotiations with fishnets on underneath my suit, so I can ‘negotiate under the table’ if you know what I mean.

Regarding the headhunter, I will be meeting with him again Wednesday, that’s when I will find out the real deal. Did lots of research on the company, they are legit, but I agree, not headhunter should be charging the job seeker.

Still on deload mode. This is what I did tonight:

Squat: 145 x 10, 235 x 5, 325 x 5, 415 x 5, 465 x 5, then 505 x 2, x 2, x 2, x 2

Focusing on ste up out the mono and just moving something. No big deal. I am also considering this as the start of a new squat cycle. I won’t be squatting at the meet, but I am going to focus on a cycle to get me ready for a future meet.

Rackable cambered bar GMs 5 x 5 with 335

Reverse hyper 5 x 10 w/180

hang leg raise 5 x 15

Oh, this random kid, 20 years old and about a solid 300lbs, and knows nothing about powerlifting, box squatted 645 x 3 tonight.

Dude that is crazy…

but here you are again in your full on NYC regalia, only the first 30 seconds is good.

Kevin, can you blame me for wantin to represent your hometown?

45 boring minutes of elliptical, watching CNN while kid played with legos and cars.

Hate this deload stuff, and also trying to make myself only train 4 days a week. I really do use it as a release. I am fucking cranky as can be today. Only did cardio, kept diet in check, etc. Tomorrow have an appointment with employment agency/recruiter/headhunter, whatever the hell they are, then DE bench/upper work, then I got a call to interview for some regional sales manager position with an insurance company. I am using this as an experience/get feet wet interview only.

Forearms still feel beat to shit, and my hips are amazingly tight for only squatting 500 last night. I think I finally realized I am drinking maybe half the water I used to, and that is probably impacting recovery somewhat. Plus this joblessness crap has been finally getting under my skin.

Its great you’ve stayed focused on the training/diet. If I wasn’t working I’d be eating everything in site and skipping workouts. I need the workday structure to function properly. I hope tomorrow goes well for you and you get a cushy, high paying gig with lots of hot chicks hanging on your every word.
