Stupid stuff with my programming. Thought I could pull heavy Thursday, then only heavy-ish Monday, and then really heavy today.
Rack pull 2 pin, midshin sticking point. Warm ups then 675 x 1. Felt like 900.
Front squats up to 295 x 6, + 20 from last week.
shrugs up to 545 x 10
pulldowns up to 300 x 8
leg raise 3 x 15
decline ab 3 x 20
bss 3 x 10
leg curls 4 x some
prowler 10 x 90lb x 40 yds.
Had the kid with me, and probably stress related am not feeling too hot. On my third trip with the prowler got a bite of the prowler ‘flu’. My kid asked me later “daddy, why did you spit on the ground when you were pushing the sled?”
I mean seriously when only 675 feels like something close to a grand…sheesh
That is quite a bit of volume and then to go do the prowler-- no shit you saw what you just ate.
Pete you are condiotioned enough, so with the prowler I would work in really heavy drags for 15 yrds forward and backward to help with your sqauts and pulls as an assistance exercise. I have been doing these for about 1/week for 6 weeks and my hips don’t feel so beat up all the time. Actually I am thinking about starting to grapple again so the pain is none existant.
I don’t mean to be stepping on your toes, just trying too help out and see a big total out of you.
My question to my athletes is : How “fit” do you have to be to do your “sport” to your utmost ability and then train for that. Alot of guys go overboard on their conditioning too fast and don’t realize why they keep getting injured or are always with a “stiff” area–make sense?

Thanks Rick. I am dancing with the conditioning devil a bit, but will continue for awhile yet. Next meet not until October/November time frame, and with the baby coming I want to be a little fitter. Better conditioned = need less sleep.
