Goin' Kickin' and Screamin'

Got all the old southern rock bands, guys: Skynard, Blackfoot, CDB, Tucker, Allman Bros, Molly Hatchet, 38 Special, Wet Willie, Black Oak Arkansas, Ozark Moutain Daredevils, and the list goes on. Made up the soundtrack of my misspent youth. Got to be in just the right mood for those. Gets the ole juices flowin again.
Just got all the stuff in Bunny. Have to plan your erections carefully. Mines planned for a couple of weeks from now. Went off on a tirade about the commercials for planned hard ons in my old thread way back.

MJ, a better question is, is there anyone in my neighborhood that I’m not related to? Between brothers, Aunts, Uncles, nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, in laws, cousins (1st, 2nd, etc.) we do take up a lot of the county.

Suppose to have a scottish meet this Saturday but I’m not hearing anything out of the guy invited me. We’ll see.

I am perturbed. Finally got a reply from the director of the meet this Saturday with the name of the school where the meet will be held. Looked in trustee puter, no such school. After several e-mails I discovered the following. The meet is in GreenEville, TN. All correspondence to this point has said Greenville, TN (hint, no E after the n). Greenville, Tn is 136 miles from my front door while GreenEville, TN is 284. The meet director appears to be an idiot and the result of several generations of inbreeding. Bottom line, I don’t have a meet this Saturday.
So I went and lifted at my new gym and my wife went with me. Yes, she has decided to work out,too.

“Do I need one of those trainers?”
“You’ve got me.”
“You won’t get mad if I keep bugging you, will you?”
“Probably”
“Will I get all big like you?”
“In 2 weeks.”
“You’re just sayin that to keep me from going with you.”

Got a visual of you and the little woman with chalk going everywhere, bands attached everywhere, wrist straps,knee wraps, protein shakes(his and hers), thongs(his and hers) and 38 Special “Stone Cold Believer”. Oh to be 21 again.WOW!!!Kick ass wherever the meet is.

Dog, really liking the zerchers. Ive still got the problem getting under the bar on back squats. The zerchers don’t hit the same place for me but I think they have a lot more carry over to highland throwing.

Really liking the new gym. Not near as crowded after work. Wife is experimenting with all the cardio things. treadmill, stair thing, etc. Already getting cocky. Started her doing some alt db curls with 3.5#. “These are too light”. “Ok, go crazy,” gave the 5#. I think I may have a future as a personal trainer.

The 505 is getting easier. Time to go ahead and do my 540 dl and get it documented so I can set a new goal. First, I need to pick out the right outfit, music, lighting scheme, camera angle, fog machine, etc.

2 invites to Highland Games in Sept. Both in the open class. Set a goal of getting my A rating in the open division (under 40). Then I can go play with the big boys and say shit like “before you were born…”

Will someone explain the difference in a “kroc row” and a one handed row to me? Can’t tell any difference by the one’s I see being done on you tube.

Worked on my new shed all weekend and it’s finished. Off for the next couple of days so going to hook up power to it tomorrow. Brothers bringing over a ditch witch so we can bury the lines.

re: Kroc rows – My understanding (and from watching Kroc do Kroc rows), is that he just goes for very high reps and uses a little ‘hitch’ versus strict form rows. I may be missing something, but that’s what I get out of watching him do them.

Those are some big DL’s.

My understanding is that a Kroc row is the same as a 1 arm dumbbell row, only for 20-40 reps. Kroc reportedly says pick a weight that you can do tens times max, only find a way to do it 20 or more with pauses, etc.

You’ll get 540. You must be pumped about the games in Sept. Always good to have a goal or two to keep the training intensity high.

Thanks all. Started off the day with a swim in the middle of pouring rain. No lightning. After my daily donation to Lowe’s it was back to work on the shed. My lifting scheduule is now in the hands of my beloved spouse. As she was leaving for work this morning she says, “I’ll come home and get you after work so we can go to the gym. I’m doing shoulders tonight”. I’ve created a monster. Being the man I reply, “I just might go earlier.” “You can wait for me.” Damn, I feel like her booty call now. She’s carryin her own towel, though.
