Goin' Kickin' and Screamin'

Awesome militaries, hel! MP is one of my favorite exercises, even if laying off of them right now. I think they are very telling of one’s strength.

Dupe King! I called it!

Nice pressing.

Hel I eat mostly clean foods, but I dont really eat allot of meat, fish, eggs sure, meat not so much.
and Im kind of a little guy- and have to eat allot to recover- I dont think its possible for me to eat enough to grow… particularly in the summer…

my work is slow- right now but when I do work its pretty physical

Whey and me are not friends but casein has worked for me…
I eat 3 to 4 meals of food a day, maybe two shakes during the day and one post work out…

but If I dont eat this much I cant recover- more important to me then getting bigger- although training like this, I have gained some size.

Thanks for the input. Have to fall back a little on the mil presses. Caught myself doing a “standing bench press”, same reason they dropped them from oly lifting. Tried to go strict on the 265 and it didn’t budge. Gonna drop the weight and work on form for a while.
Gonna start drinking several protein drinks a day. MJ’s concoctions actually sounded pretty good.
A little voice in the back of my head keeps saying, “how much new muscle do you think you can put on at 54?” You’ll notice I never list PRs. I’m basing my lifts on what I use to lift so I’m not setting any prs. I guess new muscle to me would mean lifting a weight I’ve never done before. Don’t know if that’s doable.

Squat (did drink a pint of chocolate milk pre-wo)
135,185xwu
225x8
315x8
335x6
355x5
375x4

Zercher’s
135wu
185x8
225x6x3

goblets
130x8x3

It is. I’m only 5 years behind you and hitting numbers I haven’t hit before. There’s a 70 year old man planning to PR on a 700 deadlift. Dunno that you’re ever done.

Thats some good lifting hel. You ain’t done by far!

Immediately after work
Throwing
56# for height = 10
56 & 28# for distance = 10 ea
sheaf toss = 10

approx 1/2 mile swim

Gonna eat something soon
Anyone ordered the Curcumin 500?

I haven’t tried it yet, but am considering it. I can’t live off ibuprofen! I am also considering trying Alpha Male, as I seem to have lost some of my grrrr…and my T is not as high as I would like.

Nice squatting those look powerful.

and throws look cool too.

MJ bought the curricueluoele stuff, Im thinking about it too.

I ordered it a couple days ago, but i probably won’t get it til monday cuz of the holiday. I will definitely let y’all know how it works. I have really liked the few things I have bought here. I have used grow, Flameout, and Alpha Male, and I liked them all.

Just got back from the gym. Did deadlifts and back. Had an e-mail waiting inviting me to a Highland Game 18 July. Checking the calendar at work tomorrow to see if I can get off that day. Yesterday evening as I perused the threads here I realized I didn’t know what half of you were talking about. Waves, A1, B2, 5/3/1 etc. My workouts are pretty well center around what I learned to do before some of you were born. My knowledge of nutrition is even worse. Need to take some time and update my knowledge base. Maybe find that secret to setting a PR.

7-3 Bench/Tris
7-4 shoulders/bi
7-5 legs/swim
Had a great 4th and hope all did.

Nice work over here Hel! Glad you had a great 4th!

Hey, Dances-With-Snakes,
The Curcumin-500 appears to be working for me. I have a little arthritis in the wrists, and they have not been acting up. also a little relief on my bad knee. I started using it on Thursday when I got it. I just take 1 per day, with my morning stuff. I will deadlift today, and my shoulders will probably hurt, so I will probably take another one after I deadlift.

I have no doubt that you can move your lifts up if you want to. happy belated 4th

Agreed…your squats are getting bigger and bigger, I think we’ve got some more PRS in us.

Big Squatting hel.

Thanks all. I quess we all change our routines around from time to time. Just time for me to shake mine up some.
Yesterday, afterwork
throwing, a lot

I love this!!!

old school all the way.

MJ, got mine in the mail today. Guess I need to update my profile. I now take fish oil and Curcumin. (Why do I get a mental picture of a dog in the throes of …never mind)
Yeah, kmc, guess I from the old school.
The unique thing about our little piece of T-Nation here is we talk about more than our lifting. This is one of those pieces. I did lift after work today. Did chest and tris and did them very heavy if I do say so myself. But that’s not what this is about so you can take a pass if you want.

As I was leaving the gym this evening I caught a blurp on the big screen TV. All I caught was “Lieutenant killed in Iraq” and “first american soldier captured by Taliban in Afghanistan”. Those of you who’ve been on here a while know why the first one caught my attention. The second one because I care about our people over there. Got home and turned on the TV. I hit all the major cable news channels. Every channel kept showing the canonization of Michael Jackson, a star, who slept with young boys, had such a shitty self image of himself he became addicted to facial surgery, thought he was Peter Pan, but was talented. Following a solid hour of this came our congress arguing not over the economy, not over the wars, not over unemployment, but whether the way we pick the college football champion is fair and legal. Finally, after a few more shots of assorted mourners reminding us “we should remember Michael for his talent and not unfounded allegations”, came a brief photo of and story on the soldier killed in Iraq and the one captured in Afghanistan. The hot babe reporter looked like she wanted to apologize for breaking away for the Jackson story to air such trivial stuff.

Another young soldier lost his life and another has been captured. Too bad they couldn’t sing or dance better, we might be hearing more about them.
PS, if for some real stupid reason anyone feels the need to tell me Mr Jackson was never convicted of anything and of all the joy he brought people, save it. I already heard it on the news.
To the rest of you, thanks for listening and giving me a place to vent. Back in the gym tomorrow. Doing legs, should be a Thriller.

Glad I’m not the only one. Someone asked me if had had watched any of the memorial. I didn’t even answer. My look was enough. My issue is not with him as an individual. He was a great entertainer. I am just nauseated by the culture in general. I could careless which stars are dating, which are breaking up, what they are wearing, when they are slumming, where they were seen, blah, blah, blah…

Its a sad world where our priorities are so twisted that this can trump the war(s), economy and myriad other issues that directly affect peoples lives.
