I saw the 305 clean in your training a while ago but this memory really put it in perspective.
Back in 1981, I was a graduate student at the University of Hawaii. At the time, Terry Albritton was the strength coach there. Terry was always in the weight room, so it was inevitable he saw my first clean ever at 300lbs. After I got the lift, he jumped in and power cleaned the weight. It didn’t look easy, but he did get it.
So the point is this: Imagine how far he could still have been throwing in 1981. With a clean of 305, imagine how far you can throw now. Your right hand technique is coming around. I see nothing but steady increases for a while.
Finally got around to signing on here and doing some looking around. Lots of good info. Thanks for heading me this way. Now I can learn all the secrets and find out why you aren’t getting weaker like the rest of us. To the rest of you over 35 posters. If you ever get a chance, go to the gym with this man. He will embarrass you on so many levels, lifting just being one of them. You will have a good time. Make sure his sainted wife is around to keep him under control. See you at the gym old man.
How I spend my weekend.
This is T-Nation. No lifting but there wouldn’t be no nation 'cept for these guys. The whole crew. Can’t find me in the group. White hair didn’t stand out with this crowd.
UA80? Al, dat you peeshwank? Heureux you finally show up podna. Why you wanna faire la misere? Ca viens? Next time you come to be under tat aise 135# on da bench I oublier an errer. Bon vous ici, ami. I tell the femme you hang out now.
To all. UA80 is a younger person, round 50 I think, who occassionally hangs out at the gym I use. I also know him outside the gym. Told him about this site several times and I guess he finally looked in.
Carl, I’m starting to fell more confident with the spin and finally starting to be able to put some ummp in it.
Thank you George. Those guys deserve all we can give them.
