Thats some good throwing hel. You can say what you want but you always know what you are going to get at Denny’s. Foods hot, brown and plenty of it.

just for US42
Great job, Harry! You kicked ass, as usual.

nice!
i don’t care what they say about you Harry, you carry the best lemonade bottle (or what ever that is in this picture)
great work elder cousin! I miss rodeos and demolition derbies…
Kudos for the bling, as usual.
Harry, it’s time for you to go to the National competitions. You’ve gotta give the other local guys a chance to win something.
Harry, you are fluke of nature. An inspiration for strength goals I hope to acheive. And congratulations on 1st place. And you need some sun on those things.
Thanks to all. Litre bottle of diet Mountain Dew, George. My energy drink. Don’t mess with the Dew.
A not so brief explanation on the world of the Master T&F competitor and where I fit into it. Masters are grouped in year groups covering 5 years. This year I entered the 55-59 group. When competing in a master’s meet this is who I compete against. There are maybe 3-4 guys in my age group in the Southeast US who can beat me in the shotput. Lots who can beat me in the disc.
One of them, the American record holder in the 50-54 year group could beat me without half trying (I’m a lot better looking though; see Dan John’s shot putting and good looks theory). The other’s it’s a toss up. As you move west there’re several extremely ugly people who can throw the shot farther than I in my new age group. I’m probably within the top 10 or hope to be this year. I’m also throwing farther than I ever have before since re-entering T&F.
All comers meets come in all shapes and sizes and most masters don’t enter them. You get a few guys who can throw, a whole bunch who use to in high school, and another big bunch who think, hey, I lift, I can throw that thing. It’ real fun to beat these guys. As a letter carrier I usually work on Saturdays so I have to project leave (day off) to go to most meets. This limits the amount of distance I’ll travel for a meet. On 5 Jun I have a meet that’ll attract a lot of good throwers.
On 19 June I have the Alabama Sports Festival, and then in July the Tennessee Senior Olys where the before mentioned ugly sob (a really good friend btw who drinks all my liquor a couple times a year) will hand me my head. Next year I plan on going to Houston for the US Senior Olys. A whole new class will move into my age group this year so who knows? Maybe Carl, not sure how old he’ll be.
Okay, that was real long.
This coming Sat, off to Washington DC with the Honor Flight for a whirlwind tour of the WWII Memorial. This trip is special to me cause two men who live on my delivery route are going. One was a submariner and the other an infantry man, POW.
Back to what we do here.

Never trust runners. Uncropped version of my leg picture. Didn’t know I had an audience til I looked at the picture later.
That runner knows sexy legs when he sees them. You’re gonna have to start throwing left handed to keep it fair.
quite the full life Harry.
Nice work on the gold collection
nice work indeed.
reading here and Carl’s log makes me think If i get this broken neck thing sorted out
I could do some ‘masters’ Judo .
Congrats, nice job! Oh… and you need a wax job ![]()
Lots of meets lately. I wish there were that many around here. Congrats on all the 1sts.
It looks like the 55-60 age group isn’t getting any newcomers next year. At 53 I’m the oldest in the 50-55 group that I know of.
Kick ass Harry, kick ss!

What’s it all mean? When I retired from the military I converted the Servicemen’s Group Life Insurance (SGLI) over to Veterens Group Life Insurance (VGLI). Basically a term life policy but it’s not a fixed rate and goes up every 5 years. Big jump in premium when I turned 55. Talked to my Edward Jones advisor (a nephew) and can get a whole lot more coverage on a term policy for a lot less. Did all the paperwork on the phone and they send someone to your house to do the urine/blood/measurements and get all the signatures. They came at 0800 this morning.

2000m swim, had to do something, couldn’t drink coffee.
Tonight is the last prep meeting for the Honor Flight this Saturday. This is our 11th and final fight. Not enough WWII vets left who haven’t gone for any more flights. God Bless them all.
Some totally random stuff. This one’s for Bunnzilla. Don’t always agree with Dan’s views on the world but he done real good here.
Nice training Harry. I got some additional term life insurance about a yeat ago. The thing that kept me from the top level of coverage was my weight. My BP and cholesterol were both within the acceptable ranges but weighing 275 at the time knocked me down a level. They wanted me to weigh sub-200 lbs. Never going to happen.

Only my chiro hasn’t requested a weight loss, but then, he’s pretty jacked…
I’ll probably never see 240 again…
