Goin' Kickin' and Screamin'

Yesterday was way to long a day with having worked half a day, the drive, the competition. Got home late last night totally exhausted. Good day though. Saw a lot of old friends, lied about how much we were liftin of course. Meet was run perfect and all events went off on time with good officiating. Shot, 1st place, 13.23

Way to go Harry, you kicked ass!

More shiny stuff for the drawer.

Still a stud. Great work.

Nice hardware. Good thing you are big and strong, carrying around all that metal can get pretty exhausting.

Congratulations! Throws looked good! Sounds like a good time.

Drawer? I think you need a closet by now. Preferably one with glass doors…that looks like a trophy cabinet.

Grats Big Boy! So…whats next?

Nice work… that drawer is getting full.

Congratulations, Harry. Two first places. Outstanding!

Very good looking throws Harry. Those distances beat last year’s bests, don’t they?

Thank yawl very much.
Carl, you’re right. PR’s! I had an “assisted” epiphany in the shot. The voice you hear on the shot vid is a very good friend who asked, quite graciously, “you got a broom up your ass?”. This resulted in my bending forward, kinda hunkered over (technical talk, that there) through the spin. Now I,ve got to practice and see if I can do it consistantly. All my throws hit over by the right sector line so I’m not getting around near enough. The disc is a mystery to me. The less I practice it the farther it goes. Learned a lot from the vids.
Wilson, though of you yesterday. Saw several saw mills up in that part of Tennessee (southeast, above Chattanooga). Lot of damn trucks haulin trees on the highway, too.
Steve, didn’t feel studly at all when I got home last night. I felt tired. Wife greeted me with her usual excessive show of adoration, “Shower before you touch anything. Then you can eat.”
Jack, I’m use to all the metal, I’ve got iron balls.
Thanks Strick and Kevin. Someday I’ll pull them all out and bore the younguns making up stories about them. Wait, I already do that. Ok, I’ll make up wilder stories about them.
Colin, This Sunday, Selma, Alabama, 207mi south of here, Alabama Senior Olympics.
Math, was that one for each win, thanks.

That’s some serious Bad-Assery, Harry, Congrats!

I don’t know nuthin’ from nuthin’, but your shot video was a serious example of powerful athleticism; as good as many I’ve seen from track & field events I’ve watched on TV.

(Your wife sounds like someone who’s got her priorities in order, for sure, lol.)

Getting complacent yet with all these medals?

Outstanding job Harry!

Actually, your are getting around very nicely, but you will notice that your right foot went well past the center of the ring (shot). Your left came down at a good place, but because you right went too far around, it closed you off from the throw. Hard to get your hips through from that position. There’s another foot or two just by getting the placement of the right foot in the middle more precise. Again, very good throwing.
