Thats nice benching Harry, good luck at the meet.
Great work, Harry. Can’t wait to hear about the meet. Best of luck…
Break a leg. Is that appropriate to say before a meet?? Looking forward to some videos.

I will never say to anyone, “Rupture a distal biceps tendon”, that’s for sure!
Have a great meet, Harry!
Steve, Carl used the old one before, “may you always be standing far from where your implement lands”. Southern version,“Chunk er fer, pad”.
Got in a few throws after work and had to quit before I started trying to go “just a little harder”. Weather report for Saturday ain’t good, T-Storms in the area. Usually they won’t canx a meet unless there’s lightning. Kinda makes the javelin throwers and pole vaulters a mite skittish for some reason. That’s it til Saturday. No lifting to list, throws to recount. Guess I’ll just run rampant through the logs giving more meaningful advise backed by cutting edge scientific research.
Got from a friend of mine:
"NO way should life be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely at it’s end in an attractive and well-preserved body. Rather you should skid into the grave sideways, Jack Daniels in one hand and a stoogie in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “WOW, what a ride that was!!”
Good luck at the meet. What events are you doing?
Chunk er fer, pad!

i hope to go like that. except rye, not jack
Just the shot and disc, Carl. Think my days of T&F hammer are about over. Thanks Jack, hope to. I’m just worried about spillin my drink when I go in MJ cause I’ll be kickin and screamin’.
One of the good guys was found not guilty today. Never should have been tried. Fuckin Rules of Engagement. Hated that shit more than anything.
Give 'em hell my friend. Glad the good guys win occasionally. Make sure the head’s right the body already has the T-shirt.
Chunk er fer, pad!
have fun tomorrow Harry
Sorry guys, no pix, vids, or comp. They called first thing this morning to canx. Storms hit and power went right after that. 3 waves of storms lasting most of the day. Lot of tree limbs and shit in the yard but no damage to my or any of my people’s places. Couple of places in Mississippi weren’t so lucky.
Big shout out to the Public Utilities guys. They were out hittin it in the middle of the thunderstorms. Think we can put them on the unsung heroes list. So, sat/laid on my ass most of the day. Put blankets and pillows in a bathroom with the wife and dogs, listened to our emergency radio and ate cold cuts, cheese, and leftovers.
Napped a lot of the day. Actually kinda fun and romantic. Well, as fun and romantic as 2 people, 5 dogs, a tub and a toilet can get. Storm systems gone now so hittin the gym bright and early. They’re trying to reschedule the meet for this Wednesday.
Sucks about the meet, but big weather is always exciting. Glad you are safe.
Are you going to be able to make it if its reset for Wednesday?
Hurricanes and severe thunderstorms were the most interesting thing about living in Houston many years ago. I’m happy to hear no damage to you and yours from this storm.
Damn sorry bout the meet Brother…
Tomorrow I’ll have to see if getting off is doable for Wednesday, Carl. It’ll probably be in the afternoon cause it was being held at a high school. Basically I’ll just play it by ear.
Didn’t want to go too hard today in case I do throw Wednesday so kinda did a light whole body thing.

Wednesday night will be the make up for the Saturday meet. District qualifier for Tenn. Senior Olympoics so they couldn’t just canx it. I’ll work til noon, drive 137.5 miles (gotta love mapquest), compete starting @ 1830 til ?, drive home. Towns an hour ahead in EST. Fun. Tonight, 10 very slow throws with shot and 12 easy discus throws.
This is the closest I’ve seen any of your workouts look like a deload. Great training. Have fun throwing tomorrow. Mapquest?? That requires reading and thinking. We need to get you a gps. I love mine. Mindless.
Making me antsy, Steve. Wanted to get in a swim last night but the water was running real fast from all the rain and common sense prevailed for once. I’m hoping my “deload” over the last couple of days results in some good throws.
throw far!
