Goin' Kickin' and Screamin'

First, an apology for not keeping up with everyone. Been a very busy week. Second, thanks to all for the encouragement.
Wilson, you throw the same implement for weight over bar and distance. If there is a master’s division it’s 42# and if there’s just a straight amateur division it’s 56# (all based on a stone, 14#). The one’s at meets are cast metal filled with lead but here’s how to make the ghetto version. http://highland_tools.tripod.com/saacc/id4.html
You also throw a 28# but just for distance.
Jack, “controlled” wasn’t the word for that throw. Even with my javelin short spikes on I was slippin all over the place. That was about as slow as I could go and keep the weight spinning with a little heigth.
Games are this Saturday and looks like the weather’s takin a turn for the better. Suppose to be mid 50s with only a slight chance of rain in Chattanooga. Also, there’s going to be a guest professional, Kerry Overfelt. Four women have entered the women’s division so that’ll be interesting.

Throw high and far Harry!

Have a great meet this weekend, Harry!

you take with you the support of the entire Old Nation. We are all living vicariously through you, so kick some young ass out there!

Harry, I guess I am not much of a throwing judge. But it looked to me like the weight went straight down the middle. Good luck on the meet, throw far,

Jack

Good luck this weekend. Give em a ride!

Thanks all. Stuffs all packed. Ate my super secret formula, pre-comp special spagetti and sittin here havin a cigar in honor of the leprechauns blessed event. Lot of big, and younger, boys gonna be there tomorrow so I’m pretty hyped and lookin to set some PRs.

Nother meet in the books and I be bery, bery, sore. Had a great time. Went all day. Considering it was the first meet of the year there was some good competition. Went #1 in age group and #3 overall. No work out this morning but gonna try and throw some shot and disc this afternoon. First T&F meet is 6 Mar so need to get some training in there. Got a buch of pix so here’s a few. Startin with my good side. By the way, the youngin standing right in front of me in the black shirt is probably pound for pound the best around. You’ll see him in several of my pictures. Been helped me since last year. Gives great advise, “that throw didn’t suck as bad as the last one”.
