I used the
and even the “lol”, which I never use. These are at least equal to saying “bless her heart” first. I’m not upset at all. Unfortunately my humor doen’t come across in writing all the time. I think the spam stuff was hilarious (and a little spooky —:):):):):):):):), lololololol).
Playing with my cell phone camera when I should’ve been working out. Wanted one with a tank top, clown pants, bandana, and reading a flex magazine but didn’t have the props.

Love follwing your training Harry. You do some damn good work. How did y’all cook the artichokes?
Steamed 'em JW. Did some stuff tonight. Think I may have to take some time and invent a different routine or just study up some more.
Off today
Got 2 more e-mails inviting me to games next year. One as far out as 2 Oct, 2010. So far committed to 3 T&F meets and 3 Highland games next year.

What a day! good work.
That’s some big work Harry. And I loved that yummy shovel meal. There were 3 times that I cried when I was in the Marines:
-
1982, they stopped giving us C Rats and started giving us MREs
-
1984ish, they retired the m-1911 with that little plastic POS baretta (how are you gonna pistol whip a prisoner with that little toy)
-
1986, scout sniper instructor school, found that there is no bayonet stud on a sniper rifle.

My uncle retired from the Navy after that. Said the Baretta took the skill out of firing a side arm
Damn fine work, Harry!
Hey Harry.
There was an old cartoon that used to float around some of the shops on the Nellis flight line, and I thought you would get a kick out of it. You may have seen it already.

It’s a good joke at the expense of the “Chair Force”.
oh that is a good one!

What really pisses me off is that I continue to get stronger (here we go again) but my throws aren’t getting longer. I keep looking for that one elusive lift that’ll do it. Actually, I’m still deluding myself. I need to quit lifting and practice throwing more.
[/quote]
Maybe instead of stronger you need to find a way to get quicker. Like a boxer trying to develop hand speed. Not sure how to do it but just a thought.

First time I saw that was 1993, still have the shirt
The Air Force guys in Egypt providing us support in Somalia hand drew it, 1993. See, when you know you’re the best, you can make fun of yourselves.
Steve, Dr PC and I had several conversations about how we were remaining reasonably strong but the old explosion/speed was gone. I’ve added some sprints and standing long jumps but I need to get back to plyometrics. I’m also throwing lighter weight implements.
This is kinda contraversial in the throwing community but the idea is to teach your arm to move faster than it normally can with regulation weight. theory behind this being, if a world class shot putter can throw a 16# shot 70’ why can’t he throw an 8# 140’?
Your arm just isn’t trained to move at that velocity. Sorry for the long answer.

Still working on changing my workout around, soon as I get time to think about it. Sorry I haven’t been keeping up with everyone’s logs.
Edit: 1. Though I don’t talk football much, Alabama won the SEC. If you liked Florida, take that bitchessss.
Edit: 2. All you northeners, don’t read this. I had to deliver mail in the damn snow today! Hello, Alabama. My tootsies got cold.
Thanks for the (not so long) answer.
I’m in the same political mind set as your wife. She must be going crazy with whats going on these days. I know I am.
Its tough to keep up with everyones threads these days. So many good ones.

Hel, you had snow in 'Bama? Dadgummit (acknowledgement to Bowden), I thought when I got to OK I would see more of that stuff I never did as a child, in south Georgia. Seems all we get here is ice, though!
I like Tebow, but could have cared less who won, as long as they win the next one too.
As for Fox and the others…they all lie. I just prefer my propaganda with a right leaning slant
Kudos to the wife.
Along with the pix was an invite to a highland meet in Greenville in May. I’ve cut and pasted a part of the message here. I think this is pretty cool.
…first and foremost, I must mention that we’ve moved the date to Memorial Day Weekend. For 2010 the Games will be held on Saturday, May 29th. Why would we change the date you might ask?
We have been granted a Royal Patronage from His Royal Highness, Prince Edward of England. This is a rare and prestigious honor for the City of Greenville and our Highland Games.
Prince Edward will be on hand to watch the Games and I believe he will be present at the awards ceremony.
etc…
Definitely gonna make that one. Love to medal there. That’d be a conversation piece, “why yes, I think I remember getting this one from the Prince Eddie.”
Trying something different in my work outs. Kind of a push day/pull day type thing. Trying to hit body parts more often that way.

Strung lights all over the house, yard, anything not moving. Got all the Christmas movies out, stereos on the all christmas music channel. All the Santa and winter theme glasses and dishes are out, dogs are all hiding, they hate the reindeer horns I put on them. Wife’s out with sisters in law spending all our money on presents. She keeps the list of all the relatives, it’s on a spread sheet. Even though I’m workin my ass off I love the season. Sorry, I’ll grow up someday. Naw.
thasalottasquattinandbenchinHarry!
The dogs are probably upset 'cause reindeer have antlers, not horns! Yeah, that’s probably it.
