Thanks to all for the well wishes and hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. Must of been at least a 100 or so folks at our dinner. Met a bunch of the younguns new boyfriends and girlfriends, some relatives I hadn’t seen in a while, some I didn’t know were relatives. No one got shot and weren’t no real serious arguments so all went well. Wife only kicked me under the table a few times so I guess I behaved myself. Music started up round 800 Pm. I think it was very rude to single me out as being forbidden to sing. Ate way,way too much food. Had to be at work at 0630 this morning so didn’t get drink too much. Just enough to aid the digestion. Hit the gym right after work tonight, needed it.

Found this picture the other day and scanned it. It was Thanksgiving, early 90s, in the Balkans somewhere. Good ole Spam, MRE cheese, and some kind of canned sausages we had scrounged up somewhere. Didn’t have a frying pan so we made do. Good eating.

Harry, just watched your videos again. I’m still amazed how easily you hang clean 245 and then cleaning 335 is just crazy. Thats right up there with Meat benching 500.
Sooooo, my photo which was meant as a tribute to the ingenuity of the American fighting man while simultaneously depicting the heart wrenching loneliness of being separated from family which is magnified a hundredfold on holidays spawned a tribute to Spam? Yeah, I can see it. :), lol, etc.
Eco, Meats doing a whole lot of lifts real heavy but I’m honored by the comparison. What really pisses me off is that I continue to get stronger (here we go again) but my throws aren’t getting longer. I keep looking for that one elusive lift that’ll do it. Actually, I’m still deluding myself. I need to quit lifting and practice throwing more. Hey, maybe if I eat more Spam!
Only managed to get in a swim after work today. Wife and I are hittin the gym first thing in the morning. Cookin up some nice steaks and artichokes right now. Good weekend to all.
Edit: I just looked at Meats thread. 225 x 30 on the push/pressed! No comparison at all.

Naw, I wrote the SPAM haiku a long time ago. I did feel the heart-wrenching lonliness depicted by that photo. In fact, I thought of it when I read your post about missing your high school reunions due to injuries. It occurred to me that spending a lot of time in harm’s way and getting SPAM w/MRE cheeze whiz cooked on a shovel as a reward probably gave you a unique perspective on life.
I get the sense that Hel doesn’t sweat the small stuff too much. Seems to me that we could all do with a bit more of that perspective. I want to remember that the next time someone cuts me off in traffic. Anyway, I didn’t intend to trivialize your experience. I just hoped that you’d get a kick out of the SPAM haiku. I probably should have made that more clear.
