I’d classify that as a GREAT workout. Nice pressin’, hel.
Looks like living right is carrying over into the gym.

lol! awesome training! close to that 400 bench! you should set the kid up… get a female in on the prank… throw some zydeco then have the female start hitting on the kid… lol!
Alright, I haven’t tried the zydeco, but I think you have me convinced.
Legs and back on Sunday and heading off to work the next morning to walk it off, great work hel.
zydeco with headphones, never. It must be shared with all. Bunny, I’d try and set the kid up but he already gets hit on all the time by the young girls. DZ, by the end of my route when the DOMS is setting in after a leg/back day I start doubting my sanity.

serious pullage, elder cousin! When you do the goblet squats, do you hang the dumbell between your legs, or do you hold it up around your neck? Also, what do you think goblet squats do for you that regular or front squats do not? I have noticed that many throwers use this, and I was just a-wunderin’

Hold it by one end between my legs, stand on 2 benches so I can get lower. Lot of non-throwers don’t realize it’s the leg drive gets the implement to go far. It really simulates the pick part of the caber toss which is the main reason I’m doing them now. Cayenne pepper are starting to turn. Gonna make up some good sauce soon.
Tonight

Thanks all. Yeah Eco, I just kinda stumbled into it. I can feel the deads in my lower back after doing them but after the squats, all gone. Haven’t felt a bit of lower back DOMS since I started doing them this way. Also squatting after the deads makes the squats feel lighter and really go easier. Zerchers after the squats feel even lighter. (Guess these are cheat zerchers cause I start from the up position).
Weight is weight so it’s all a mind game but it’s working. Mentioned it earlier but I was really amazed by the effect the old backwards belt had on my squats. It was like “did I put the right amount on”? Now if I can find a rack where I can put my hands against the collars I’ll be a happy man.
MJ, we may be stuck with the stigma of that’s all we talk about here. Might be a good thing and keep some out and the place civil.
Pete, thanks for stopping by. Been following your thread. You’re putting up some really big numbers.
Yesterday was all throwing and what I judge to be a 2000m swim. Would have gone straight to the gym from work tonight but the wife called me and said, “wait for me to go to the gym tonight. It’s shoulder night”. I love it when she talks dirty like that.

My kids have been talking about how I need a kilt … your new avatar reminded me.
You look like you’ve lost weight (as in more muscle, less fat).
Thanks for the posts on the squats. Gave me something to think about.
I’m looking at dem peppers… 7 am and I’m drooling,
Damn good training!
Elaikases, think I’d dropped to the 220’s in that picture. Trying to get up around 240 but can’t put in enough good food on a regular basis. Holding steady in the mid 230’s right now.
JW, put up a gallon jar of peppers last year with some salt and vinegar. I’ll open it soon and put up another gallon for next year. Makes some damn good hot sauce.
Last night, got in some throwing and a swim. Sent an e-mail to the guy in charge of the games I’m suppose to be in next Saturday. Haven’t heard anything in a while.
So, I’m sitting here killing a little time because “we” are going to the gym tonight. Once she gets home, changes, etc. When I get there I will do “the thing where you lay on your back with the weights over you” and the “back of the arm stuff”.

That first one I call Anderson squats and the second is the pinching my wife does when I comment too much at movies.
Hope that fella comes through for ya.
You office workers ever work or just post? Probably have to adjust the AC every now and then. Making them hard decisions like where to go to lunch, huh? Probably some poor underpaid slob out there doing all the real work while you’re making the big bucks. Want to argue about it?
Sorry.
Made a never to be repeated mistake this last week. Both the shop steward and the assistant took some time off and Mr. Dumbass here agreed to act as steward. No problem. Yeah, right. I spend at least a couple of extra hours a day arguing over the most trivial shit imaginable with both management and the carriers. Did get my workouts in by leaving my phone in the car after work. Come out of the gym at night and there’d be 3 or 4 calls complaining about something. The steward returned today and I think I crushed a few ribs hugging him. Then told him to never, ever, under fear of death, talk to me again.
Anyway, highland game is on for tomorrow and I’m just in the right mood for one. Need to throw some real heavy shit around and clear the head.
tear it up Hel.
I would never volunteer to be the shop steward, as much as I like to work, and do good work
there is a certain joy in Neck down.
kmc
SSSSHHHIIITTT… These days I sit in an office
But I do get to walk in the mill and waller in the sawdust and grease now and again… Good luck on the games. Glad your stewardship is over!

Throw high and far, hel!
sorry about your pseudo-management experience…
Picking up some big weight bro. Hammer away!

Yesterday, Best damn time I’ve had in a long time. Great conditions and great people. I’ve just about made up my mind to go over to the Highland Games full time. Picked up a lot of great training tips and pointers. Also got the crap beat out of me. Didn’t know the meet was as big as it was but lots of people showed up. Couple of world record holders in different events. Anyhow, didn’t make the top 3 but didn’t embarrass myself. Set several Pr’s and got an invite to another meet on Oct 3. Didn’t have an opportunity for much picture taking but here’s a couple someone sent me this morning. I’d just let go of the stone in this one.

This is a teaser pic for the nude photo spread I’m doing for AARP.
You really love the highland games and I think thats great! When something hits you deep down and you dig doing it ,GO FOR IT !!!Nice work hel. Jimmy T
