Glutamine?

Ok, here is another one. L-Glutamine powder. How much should I take. I’m hearing conflicting information from alot of people. Some say 5grms/day is enough and other say that I should take as much as I want and if I thro up, I took to much. If that is the case, I could take about, well…I don’t know, thought out a day…a lot I guess. 60 to 70 grms maybe.
Any suggestions?

Click “search”, type in “Glutamine”, hit “Enter”.

Or you could just take the recommended dosage.

If you do not know what exactly a supplement is doing, why you are taking it, how high the dosage and how long the cycle, do not take it. If you have to rely on the package description for dosage, do not take it.

Very true. You should know what, why, and how much of something you’re going to be taking befire putting it into your body.

Web Slinger, I’ve had great results (for my immune system) using 5-10 grams a day. If I feel a cold coming on, I try to take 5g. twice a day in juice or water. Usually before breakfast and either with a PWO drink or before bed.

As far as glutamine effecting recovery, strength, and/or size, I haven’t seen any significant results, except that you can’t train well with the flu, so in a roundabout way, I guess it helps.

I totally disagree with this blanket statement. For example, the label recommendations for Surge have suited me just fine. While people have experimented with other methods (like the Double Surge Project) and have found great results, there’s nothing “wrong” with using a supplement exactly as the manufacturer recommends. I’d even say that would be the smartest option, and after you’ve developed some experience with it, then you can get creative with usage.
