Girl With the Most Cake

big snatch?

maybe naow?

but im pretty sure you meant this one.

Am I too late to comment on snatches? I have a 30lb kb and used to do a lot of conditioning training with it. I would do max rep snatches in 5 minutes. I think I got to 70 or thereabouts. It made me barf a couple of times. It also beats the hell out of your arm. I don’t care what crapolla they feed you about form, it still smashes your arm.

Let’s hear it for the summer of snatch.

Damn. Now your thread is filled with snatch.

Overflowing with snatch, I’d say.

Heh heh. I like me a KB snatch, personally. It’s worth having someone teach you first because it’s a funny movement. I figured out that popping my elbows forward as I brought the KB up helped me get it right.

Maybe I should change this thread’s name to the Girl With the Most Snatch.

Bigger isn’t always better though.

Heeee, hehehe…gotta love sum snatch…and ol’ boy’s right Joe, you ain’t foolin’ no one by adding a prefix…we all know you love it too!

Thanks all for the snatch-iful entertainment in this thread. Today was definitely a day that I really needed your light-hearted company.

Hope all is well!

When working with a snatch it’s customary to start low and end high. Sometimes there’s a bit of wiggle at the top, but if you grab that snatch hard at the top it’ll steady out, though there may be some jumping around at first. If you pull a snatch too hard, you may find that you have to run after it. Practice working the snatch as often as possible to keep it nice and tight.

I’m sorry but I’m giggling like an adolescent at DaCA’s post.

Thank you, thank you. After a horrible night’s sleep, this made me smile.

HAHAH! kimba’s thread always delivers…

get your rest woman!

It is time to start 5/3/1 Wave 8. I have upped the bench and military press working maxes by 2.5 lbs. and the squat and deadlift working maxes by 5 lbs.

5/3/1 - Wave 8, Week 1 - Military Press Day

45# 1 x 5 <–working
50.5# 1 x 5 <–working
57# 1 x 7 <–money set, first time at this weight

Considering that insomnia kicked me viciously hard last night, I was fairly happy with this. Also, my AM bodyweight was the lowest I’ve ever seen it – 108.5 lbs. I am really trying to eat up today and drink lots of water.

Pullup drop sets
5 BW/3 one band/5 two band

DB snatches
24.5# dumbbell 1 x 1 each hand

Just testing this. I can barely squeak this up with my left arm.

Cal’s Pushup/Kettlebell Swing Challenge
10 Pushups/ 1 KB swing all the way down to 1 pushup and 10 KB swings with as little rest between sets as possible.

This was really hard, and my pushups towards the end weren’t super low, but I did it.

Good work, 57 x 7 for military press is awesome.

Sounds like a fun challenge; if I ever want to punish myself for a skipped workout or something bad, I’ll do this

I hear ya on the insomnia Kimba, I was hit with it also last night. hope your tired enough to totally crash and drift of tonight. and eat a samich. carbs are good for sleepeeze.

I was ready to crash 6 hours ago, haha…

sweet dreams…
