Girl With the Most Cake

Kbell by the pool for 100 points in that case and perhaps a couple of pushups on the beach for an extra bonus. That would satisfy me. lol. not that you need too of course.

Bw work is a great deload workout!! And all that sounded wonderfully challenging. HAHAH! No love for plank? I hear ya.

Oh jealous! Cycling to and fro is plenty a workout for a beach day! Have a wonderful outing!

Beach Volleyball is a great workout in a pinch.

Just catching up. 5 kids. In one place? On purpose? :-0 Glad you survived and that life returns to normal!

I also discovered the deliciousness of Mike’s Cranberry Hard Lemonade. This, I did not need to know.

CBear, did your older sibs beat the living crap out of you? Because the younger kids were getting mercilessly picked on by the older ones. How do moms stand the “he hit me first. no SHE hit me first” constant noise?

yes. yes, they did. two older brothers and an older sister (the oldest is 6 years older than i), mom had definite rules laid out by the time i remember anything- we got in trouble for lasting redmarks/welts, and drawing blood. other than that, we were to settle it amongst ourselves. things got interesting when the boys started taking karate lessons.

I am back from the beach, tired and full of beach food: fried seafood, curly fries, soft-serve. I sort of feel like crap now, but it was delicious going down.

Saturday’s training: 1 hour ride
Sunday’s training: 2 hour ride
Today’s training: 2 hour ride.

Then, after getting home and realizing that I felt like crap, it was time to beat myself up just a little:

Chinup drop sets
7 bw/4 one band/5 two band

One more on the one-band over the last attempt.

One armed DB snatch
18.5# 1 x 5, each hand
12 kg KB 1 x 2 right hand, 0 x 2 left hand

I love these! Turns out after watching the video that Betty posted in N’s old thread, I could indeed snatch my KB, but not with my weaker left arm. I will work on this.

KB swings
12 kg. 3 x 15

Pushups
3 x 12

Damn, I need to train these. I just barely squeaked out the last couple of reps.

Then fixed myself some salad and ate some fruit to counterbalance all that fat and sugar.

yeah for snatches!!

Meanwhile, consider the chin drop-set a double victory!! You were able to do 7 chins with your muscles all full of water and curly fries, nice!

And yeah for snatches! They are super fun.

Glad you had a good weekend Kimba - sounds fabulous!

curly fries and soft serve…you know how to live it up!!

Kettlebell snatches are supposed to be great but so far I’ve avoided doing them.

^^^^ yeah, that’s what they keep telling me…but I like using the BB. Actually, its been a minute…maight have to work some on this weekend, hmmmm

Oh, anyway, sounds like you had a nice weekend Kimba! Great job with the pull ups!

N., I love your snatch enthusiasm.

Maschy, good point. My muscles were full of water and curly fries when doing that chinup set, adding a pound or two to the difficulty.

Betty, it is impossible to go to the beach without soft serve and curly fries and fried clams. It just wouldn’t be right! But in the interests of complete disclosure, the soft serve was split with my husband as was the fried seafood plate. That sort of food without some portion control is a complete disaster.

On the subject of snatches (snatches! I am so easily entertained) I find the dumbbell alot easier to throw overhead than the kettlebell. CDQ, maybe that’s why you prefer the dbs?

I just purchased some oly sized db handles which give me lots of flexibility in weight now. I don’t actually have enough plates to load two dumbbells, but loading one with any increment of weight is now easy.

Maybe it will be a snatch sort of summer.

^^^^^^

You’ll note everwhere I write snatch I put DB or BB infront of it because it appears I’m still a twelve year old boy when I see the word snatch.

“On the subject of snatches.” I am going to have to use that segue more often. And we can only hope for a snatch sort of summer.

Joe, adding BB or DB isn’t fooling anyone.

Yeah, the word “snatch” makes for a lot of mental snickering among most of us, I think.

snatch?

this snatch?

how bout naow?
