Girl With the Most Cake

Excellent DLing Kimba! You certainly made it look easy.

10oz of filet is serious eats! We actually eat filet mignon at Thanksgiving because my Argentinian mother finds turkey “freakish”. But in my food chain filet trumps turkey, so i’m good with this.

That cake looks like heaven…mm…

Lol @ Git! Self-promoting Canadians are sexy!

giterdone, although I appreciate the sentiment, that Snapper is gonna get you for that. O too.

Yeah, well not too burst your cute little bubble but I was mostly referring to mahself…ahaha.

“to know him is to love him. He must be a hell of a pig!” (wait what!!

thank you for this little flashback Git. Haven’t watched Sesame Street in weeks! lol.

Fuck me that’s a large cake! Jesus wept. I thought the black forest cherry cake at Busch Gardens (Williamsburg) were big, but no, they are but a morsel compared to that behemoth.

MPs are a bitch to advance on. I get stuck on them for ages. I’m just working my way back up to where I was before but I was quite pleased with today’s effort. Still, they are my slowest exercise for progression, no doubt about that.

Nothing like putting up a picture of a ginormous slice of CHOCOLATE CAKE to get commentary from the ladies.

Nikki, thanks for the kind words. Awwww…

giterdone, once again I question whether you are really Canadian.

Greeney, thanks! I love deadlifting.

CBear, thanks for checking that. I’m switching to good mornings for awhile until I can better figure out how to load up the back raises without killing myself.

Maschy, I actually was still hungry for dessert after decimating the 10 oz. filet. mmmmm…MEAT!

Cal, ain’t America something? Although I totally fell for the “bigger” because having seen that piece of cake on display, I had to try it.

Last night’s training was late and somewhat rushed because I had to work into the night on my project due today.

5/3/1 - Wave 12, Week 1 - Rehab Squat and Bench Day

Rehab squats
Bar 1 x 5
75# 1 x 5
85# 1 x 5 <–deep enuf but struggle to keep knees out
95# 1 x 5 <–successful knees out struggle
100# 2 x 3, 3 x 2 <—all deep enuf, always a struggle to keep knees out, but I’m making some progress

I didn’t get to all-out knee cave until the last rep of the last set, so all of this work seems to be strengthening whatever it is that is weak.

Bench Press
Bar 1 x 5
58.5# 1 x 5 <–working
67.5# 1 x 5 <–working
76.5# 1 x 7 <–money set, not a PR but I was OK with this

DB Snatch
37.5# 2 x 0 <–fail, too tired to get these up. Next time.

Overhead squats with the curl bar
1 x 5

Here is the problem: I’m too weak to squat the oly bar, but the curl bar isn’t long enough for me to load it with weight.

Good mornings
Bar 1 x 10
50# 2 x 10

I’m subbing these for back raises for awhile. Starting off with light weight so that I can be sure to get a full ROM. My hammies are a bit sore this AM, so mission accomplished!

Triceps V-handle pushdown
70# 1 x 10
60# 1 x 10
50# 1 x 10
done as a drop set, no rest. I do so love working triceps.

hurray for squat progress Kimba. you highly deserve it.

I’m sorry but did somebody say CAKE? Nay BUTTERCREAM FROSTING!?

swoon

You know you can squat more than me, right? You’re doing really well.

Love hearing that the squat rehab is working! That’s great news!

And that the hammies got nice and toasty from the GMs.

Your tri’s are delectable!

mmmmm, cake…drool

Keep up the excellent work!!

Good mornings are a killer exercise.

Nice work on the squats. Are those to the step/risers or have you eliminated that?

Frenchy, thanks. I have to look for the progress with a microscope. But even a little progress will keep me going.

Hallowed, I completely understand swooning for buttercream frosting. There is nothing better.

Cal, if I can squat more than you its just because you are rehabbing more stuff than I am rehabbing.

Maschy, thanks for the triceps love you sexy thang, you.

Betty, pictures of cake are all you and I have today. The upside is virtual cake doesn’t have to be cardioed off us.

Snapper, I have eliminated the step completely. It seems that after squatting to that thing for a solid year, my depth is now pretty consistently powerlifting legal even without it as a crutch. YAY!

Thats nice work there Kimba. I also love working triceps, mostly because they are the only group that gets stronger.

Good news on the less knee cave. Definetely some strengthening in there.

I love triceps too, better than working biceps.
It’s not like someone’s going to say “Damn, look at those tricep guns!” and you know me, I’m all about the vanity

Kimba: Squat numbers are looking good!

so glad the rehab squatting is working for the caving knees, also like how you added in the banded squats. I’d still throw some box squats in every once in awhile.

Your DL form is really good!

Joe, training triceps is fun. But since I have strong triceps, it would probably be better if I spent more time on things that I suck at. Like pistol squats, or overhead pressing.

Nikki, vanity FTW! At least we are honest about it.

Nadia, thanks. Its headed in the right direction.

lil, funny that you mention box squats! I was going to do them yesterday, but I was too lazy to run around and collect the necessary step and risers. I won’t pussy out next time. And I so appreciate the vote of confidence on the DL.

I usually rest on Mondays because I need the recovery time. But I really want to pull out my oly bar and work on military presses. That would be stupid-ass this late at night. Sadly.

Congrats on getting rid of the steps! Seems like your knee cave is getting less and less. It’s always nice to see when “rehab” works…

I’m just here because I heard there was cake.

Greeney, thanks! I always get inspired by seeing others overcome their issues. Gives me hope.

pch, bring your plate over. I’ll cut you a nice big slice of cake.

Today’s training was a 2 hour easy bicycle ride after conquering the Thanksgiving grocery shopping. The menu is 10 pound bone-in turkey breast, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, homemade cranberry-orange-ginger sauce, Paula Deen’s corn casserole – seriously, this is amazing: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/corn-casserole-recipe/index.html , salad, pumpkin pie and almond cake.

I am thankful that my sister is flying in to help me cook this all. Naturally, I laid in a supply of cooking champagne (defined as “champagne drunk by the cooks whilst cooking”).

everything is looking good in here
glad the caving has gone away-
vids are looking well

Im brining a bird later on tonight.

sadly I have no triceps - all pull - no push
