Girl With the Most Cake

cooking champagne for the win!

Lol I’ve never lied about my vanity. So true that!

If I could spend Thanksgiving with Paula Deen, my life will be complete
Seriously awesome menu.
I would love to visit your and N’s house for Turkey Day… hmm

My turkey day has come and gone. we celebrate in October when local fresh bounty is plentiful… and it gives us a bigger break before we have to see the family again. lol.

Oh yeah, I forget you’re in Canada… drats.

Haha lucky you. You get 2 months before you see your family again. That can be useful.

kmc, thanks for stopping in. No, the caving hasn’t gone away, but its gone at lower weights and that weight limit is slowly going up.

Frenchie, and its nice champagne too. I don’t skimp.

Nikki, you are welcome to pull up a chair and help me eat this butter-soaked monstrosity that I’m about to create. We then will atone together!

Today’s training was done bodybuilding style for a nice change of pace. There’s my vanity popping up again…

Squats
Bar 1 x 5
65# 1 x 10
75# 1 x 10
85# 1 x 10
65# 1 x 10

All low enough, all good knees, done strong.

Incline DB Bench Press, alternating
17.5# 1 x 25
The last 4 reps on the L were assisted, whereas the R side continued to be cake. Imbalance, much?

HS Individual Handle Pull downs, alternating
37.5 1 x 25

Leg extensions
some x alot

Biceps curls (with cable machine)
some x alot

Bench dips
BW 1 x alot

Ab work, the dreaded ab work x lots

On tap for today: house cleaning cause guests are coming over tomorrow!

Time speeds up as you get older. I don’t know why this happens, but it is truth. A year passes but in the blink of an eye for me.

Yes, I spent a year squatting to that step, and FUCK YEAH but my body appears to know exactly how deep to go now. That advice was priceless.

The house is clean, but that has mostly to do with hubby. As for me, I went to the lulu and bought myself some birthday presents.

Happy Birthday!!

speaking of champagne - I was rather disappointed with the veuve cliquot but like the Muet et Chadon. What’s your bubbly of choice?

x2 - Happy Birthday - here’s another young lady!

I don’t have champagne often enough to have an opinion…

Frenchie and George, I always take birthday wishes but mine isn’t until next Wednesday. This was just the last day I would voluntarily go to the mall.

My favorite champagne (used loosely as this is from California) is Piper Sonoma Blanc de Noir. Currently in the fridge is a Chandon Blanc de Noirs.

bear on peggs computer

I figured it was just denial. if it happens to everybody, i guess its either awesome denial or shit that happens. oh well. i’ll always be 8 years old as far as most things are concerned.

oh wow for priceless advice. i dont know that i’ve been told that before. basking

yay for clean house and the hubby that helped! I need to do mine this weekend too, in between paper editing and family stuffs. come to think of it, thats when most of my housechores get done… when im sposed to be doing homework… hmm.

i’ll take this opportunity to lol at the last day you’ll “voluntarily” go to the mall. teehee.

Happy Birthday to the most gorgeous tiny freak I know!

Oooh body builder style training - that def can be fun! And great job on the strong knees on the sqwatz.

Dinner sounds scrumptuous! Have fun with the family

Pictures of the lulu clothes (with you in them, duh) pweeze

Happy birthday week! Birthday weeks are good for the body

CBear, I read “basking” as “basting”. I have turkey-cooking on the brain. Although basted CBear would be juicy and delicious.

Maschy, thanks for the birthday wishes. I like when my birthday turns into a birthday week.

Nikki, pictures for sure. Maybe even video.

Everything got cooked, most of got eaten, and I am now putting my feet up while hoping all of the running around I did today burned some of the calories I just gobbled up.

Some stiff-legged DLs per haps? :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh boy, I’m just terrible haha

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Don’t think of it as eating a lot, think of it as a refeed.

Happy Birthday!!

Nikki, I’ve got RDLs for you, but I don’t do stiff legged deads.

Jack, it was actually a good Thanksgiving which is high praise coming from this holiday-hater.

Joe, OK. But how to explain the chowing down on the leftovers today?

coyotegal, thanks! You have a beautiful back.

Today’s training was fueled by lots of turkey, a little stuffing (heated up in the cast iron pan with extra butter) and some more pumpkin pie.

5/3/1 - Wave 12, Week 2 - Sumo Deads and Military Press Day
BW = 112

Sumo Deadlift
from floor
95# 1 x 4
115# 1 x 4 <–both warmup sets looked good despite pulling from a bit of a deficit with smaller plates
135# 1 x 3 ← working
152# 1 x 3 <–working, this looked nice and easy
171 1 x 3 <–money set, rep PR +1

My form wasn’t perfect on the money set, but it wasn’t awful either. I’ll definitely take making the reps.

RDLs
135# 11/10/10

This was the last set when I was trying to get as low as possible. I’m not sure my form on these is correct, so feel free to chime in.

Military Press
47# 1 x 3
54# 1 x 3
60.5# 1 x 2 <–money set, failed on 3 after getting it 1/2 way up.

Nothing much to say here except MPs are hard for me. If I can’t make the money set reps next week then I’ll reset this lift again for the millionth damn time.

Then I managed to push press the oly bar overhead and hold it there. Tried to squat it but couldn’t. Also, what is the grip for this? I edged my hands out wide in order to get the bar behind my head but couldn’t hold it.

Good Girl/Bad Girl (with 3 sec. hold at maximum bad girl)
135# 3 x 10 <–PR +5 lbs.

supersetted with

Neutral Grip Pullups
3/3/2/2

These were weak tonight.

Then some atonement cardio on the Concept II rower:

Total time: 16 min, 2883 meters
First 8 minutes was 30 sec. on/30 sec. off

Then home for a dinner of leftover turkey, corn casserole and stuffing. Oh and a silver of almond cake. Thankfully, other than some turkey and mashed potatoes (the latter of which I can totally resist) there are no more leftovers except two slices of pumpkin pie.

I see some stuffing-fueled PRs
