awesome!!
Actually, my friend Julio and I have been meaning to compile a short vid of all the pushups that we’ve done or do…and I just added these “Atlas pushups” and “Diamond pushups w/ butt in air” to my current regime! But I find pushups incredibly fun.
Sweet squatting Kimba!

I like how you say what Im thinkin, lol
Lol! Oh dear, i should’ve just said “Tiger pushup” which is real name of that move. HAH!
Anyways, here’s a site that shows a bunch of pushups that can be done - I’ve tried a good lot of them including the “one legged” and its variation “the uchi-mata”, and the “side to side”, a.k.a “Triangle pushup”, and the “clapping push up”, the “corkscrew”, “super mans”…
Check out the Aztec pushup - wow! Who can do that one?
/end pushup hijack

But, but, but…that website is full of dudes??? I’m sorry but that is NOT an adequate substitute for Maschy bum vids, I mean, push-up vids.
Where do you find the fancy cinnamon? I put it every day in my oatmeal as well and I just buy it from the bulk store. I want the fancy ceylonese or Vietnamese kind.
That’s a crap ton of squatting you did the other day.
So, I actually own brand new Saucony running shoes, but I never intended to run in them but then I didn’t like them well enough looks-wise to wear them casually. Duh…fishing them out of the closet.
I also didn’t realize that I ended up during 60 squat reps yesterday. Frankly, there was so much chatting between sets, I didn’t notice the volume.
Maschy, that was a crazy amount of pushup varieties! The Hindu pushup looks to me like downward dog into upward dog, one of my few favorite yoga moves. I’d be happy to do those again. I do, however, join the call for a Maschy pushup video.
O., I get my fancy cinnamon from a Penzey’s store that is local to me. I don’t know whether they ship to Canada from www.penzeys.com, but I’d highly recommend their Vietnamese extra fancy:
There was no training today. Just working.
you know im gonna vote for vibrams.
and wow. 60 squats, no cave, jeebus woman, you’re getting it! fuck yeah!

Chatting? Was Git at your gym? You’re not considering implants, are you?

Julie, if you eat A LOT of cinnamon you want to get the cinnamon from Ceylon. Strictly speaking if it isn’t from Ceylon it isn’t cinnamon but cassia. Cassia is botanically-known as Cinnamomum aromaticum or Cinnamomum cassia and belongs to the same family as “real” cinnamon. Cassia is actually stronger tasting than cinnamomum verum “Ceylon cinnamon”.
The only other difference is the level of Coumarin which can be toxic in high doses over long periods of time. Cinnamomum cassia had a 5% Coumarin concentration while Cinnamomum verum has a much lower 0.004% concentration so its much easier to get high highs with cinnamomum cassia.
Umm I’ll shut up now.

I just ordered an 8 ball of Vietnamese cinnamon from them. I’m so excited. Clearly I need to get out more.
CBear, I sure hope I’m getting somewhere with squats. Its sure been a long time in squat rehab.
Snapper, although I’d love to see git at my gym, alas no. And since my rack is perfect as it is, implants are superfluous.
Joe, that was super interesting. If internet sources can be believed, the Vietnamese cinnamon that I’ve got is cassia as well, or a close relative:
git, are you calling Snapper sassy? Cause everyone here knows that, my friend.
O, be prepared to get your head blown off. This stuff smells amazing and is way stronger than normal cinnamon. The first time I used it, I dumped WAY too much in my oatmeal and it was almost uneatable. Almost.

Yeah almost all cinnamon is really cassia, it only matters if you eat a LOT of it or if you take it as a supplement.
So, good night of training last night despite working very late and getting to the gym way later than usual.
5/3/1 - Wave 12, Week 1 - Sumo Deadlift and Military Press Day
Sumo Deadlift (all from floor, first three sets at a deficit due to small plates)
85# 1 x 5
95# 1 x 5
123.5# 1 x 5 <–working
142.5# 1 x 5 <–working
161.5# 1 x 6 <–money set, rep PR +3
I was very happy with this. Used the belt on the money set, but set it in the 6th hole which is fairly loose. I found that a tighter belt was distracting me more than helping remind me to push out.
Military Press
45# 1 x 5
50.5# 1 x 5
57# 1 x 5 <–barely made the reps, the last one went up by force of will alone
Good girl/bad girl abduction machine
130# 3 x 10 with 3 sec hold at maximum bad girl
supersetted with
Neutral grip pullups
4/3/3
Tonight is a dinner with friends at a fancy steak house. Filet please!
Nice job on the deads. The sexiest lifters deadlift sumo.
You know, you’re really not that far behind me on the MPs and you’re half my size.
steakhouse FTW! That will be a good way to feed that PR ![]()
