Girl With the Most Cake

HAHAHAH! Kimba! Freaking awesome vid! You seriously are the cutest thing in the world. And FWIW, I too <3 your triceps.

Agreed with the rest, you’re commitment to squatting will pay off in dividends, so keep at it and you’ll get to where you want to be.

lol! Nadia, I’m sure that bar can be used for taking down cobwebs in the corners of your living room and other such “functional” work…

Kimba, riding to a burrito shack? Now that is incentive!!

Nikki, I lived to regret the chicken burrito. Hubby then insisted on pizza for dinner and I am weak when faced with pizza. Burrito plus pizza on the same day = bad news on the scale and too much junk food for me feeling optimally well.

Betty we have similar goals, and I will be happy to welcome you to maintenance-land very soon!

Joe, I am all for training efficiency. It is just efficient to combine a training ride with a meal. That is my story and I’m sticking to it.

Nadia, those steps are useful in lifting. I use them sometimes to elevate my deadlifts if I am warming up with small plates. There was a time, many years ago, when riding the elevator down to the step aerobics class offered by the gym in my high-rise office building was the only fun hour of my day. I actually have fairly fond memories of steps as a result.

I absolutely do think that bicycling for long rides on “off” days does impact my strength on squats and deads. Jumping as a counterbalance to this has never occurred to me, so thanks for the idea.

N., yup that is me! I’m a smiler, which gets me into trouble with the boys. Since of course if I smile at you, that obviously means I want to fuck you. Right?

Maschy, can I say again how much I love your avi?? My goodness its hard to concentrate on what you write when looking at that. The burrito was OK, but nothing spectacular and nothing like the delicious burritos I got in Cali.

Well, duh. Everyone knows that. How YOU doin’?

Your enthusiasm is adorable. Have you ever thought of hiring a coach? Even someone that you just see once a week. You strike me as very coachable and positive - perfect client material. You could probably get a lot of this worked out in just a few sessions with a good coach.

kimba- get a coach AND a trainer! and a stylist and a life coach and an accountant and an assistant and

yeah i took that kinda far.

yesterday i had pizza for breakfast and nachos for snack and dinner.

this is why i don’t have a scale.

plz say that at least the pizza was delicious!

obviously she smiles at ME since she was directing her comment at ME.

get your own Kimba.

Please add me to the
getting stronger over time, not getting injured and fitting in my pants!!
list. That just about sums it up for me.

Don’t fret about the scale its just water from the extra sodium.

Well you’re just a big poo-head (stomps off)

I had to watch that celebratory smile part of the vid several times 'cause it made me feel so cheerful.

Yeah, you really are a cutie. And it might be fun to get a real coach.

And nlmain: Stop being so possessive. Kimba belongs to all of us.

a communal Kimba. how touching.

lol (I’m so witty)

Thanks for entertaining me on a day when I was desperately trying to catch up on my work.

giterdone, I’m doin’ just fine thanks. smiles.

Bobbi, that is a good suggestion.

CBear, the pizza WAS delicious…sausage flatbread pizza which I could not and did not stop eating. Sadly, all that wheat isn’t the best idea for me and there wasn’t enough protein in the meal. I certainly wish that was different, but there it is.

Now, now N. There is enough Kimba for everyone. Especially for you!

Hallowed, Betty just has a way with words. I know its water and sodium that accounts for the day to day fluctuations. But any cue to eat clean and choose foods that promote my health over crap I will take!

Snapper, I’m happy that my video caused cheerfulness! I was surprised that I could squat that weight, albeit in an ugly way.

Today’s training was more squat rehab and a bench deload. I was feeling a bit beat up in my right hip and left knee, but things loosened up as the night wore on.

Boring squat rehab
Bar 1 x 5
75# 1 x 5
85# 1 x 5
95# 1 x 3 <–knee wiggle on last rep resulted in me calling the weight right here
Wider stance with band around knees
95# 4 x 3 <–mostly low enough, mostly successful in fighting that bitch Knee Cave

This was the last set, with the most struggle. But hey! I didn’t kill myself waddling around in the bands, so WIN.

Normal stance, no bands
95# 1 x 3 <–some knee cave on last rep

Bench Press Deload (pinkies on rings)
Bar 1 x 5
50# 1 x 5
55# 1 x 5

Trying to groove a wider grip to keep some interest in this deload day alive.

DB Snatch
35# 1 x 5 each side <–rep PR +3

I was feeling tired at this point or else I would have tried a heavier weight. Next time.

Bulgarian split squats
17.5# DBs 3 x 10

I so hate one-legged work, but at least my balance didn’t totally suck today.

supersetted with

Neutral grip pullups
3 x 3

These aren’t improving, but I’ll keep at it.

And that was it. Then home for a dinner of apple chicken sausages and salad.

Good depth and a good fight on keeping those knees out - I never did figure out how to do the band around the knees thing (just not coordinated enough) so kudos to you!

It looks like you’re getting better. I think the band idea seems to be working well for you. I have to say that you have just about the smallest backside I’ve ever seen on an adult woman.

but it is so well shaped!

Good for you!!!

those squats do look better. and look no riser.

oh yes, yes it is…

Nice training all around! 35 on the snatches is good stuff. And I concur, those squats looked great! Didn’t see much wobble, if any, and no risers! YAY!

George, but the fact that you fixed your knee cave gives me hope! Thanks for the kind words directed to my ass-al area.

O, thanks for the encouragement. There must be smaller asses out there somewhere. I’m working hard on rounder, not smaller.

Thanks Betty and Frenchie – no risers is right. No more running around the gym searching for one!

Maschy, my squats are coming along at a snails’ pace, but at least there is incremental improvement.

Today’s training was a three hour bicycle ride with a stop for lunch. Part of that lunch was banana bread pudding with chocolate sauce which was heavenly in every way. Ever since I discovered bread pudding last month, I’ve tried it everywhere that I’ve seen it. How could I have missed this deliciousness for so much of my life???

that bread pudding sounds coma- inducing  I love banana bread, so I never make it. I can honestly eat the whole loaf. Same with raisin and cheese bread. yums.

Hmm, banana bread pudding with chocolate sauce… you always find the good stuff Kim.

Congrats on the snatch PR.
