N., drive four hours south and I’ll help you out with that.
Joe, in my world Alabama IS down South. How much south-er is there?
Sunday AM training was an exercise in figuring out how to make a deload day not suck.
5/3/1 Wave 9, Week 4 - Squat and Bench deload day
Squats – as low as I can
48# 1 x 5
60# 1 x 5
72# 1 x 5
All of this was easy so I tried to work on consciously pushing my knees out and sitting back.
Squats - band around knees
65# 3 x 5
Got braver and put weight on the bar. I have to take a wider than normal stance to get the band to stay up.
Box squats to 5 risers plus step
65# 3 x 10
Working hard on sitting back, bringing my hips forward to get out of the hole, and keeping my back tighter. My glute-ham tie in was BURNING at the end of these sets, so I think I’m doing something right.
Bench Press deload
45# 2 x 5
51# 1 x 5
ho hum.
Bulgarian split squats
15s 3 x 10 each leg
supersetted with
DB Chest Press, alternating arms
15s 3 x 10
Cable hip adduction/abduction
12.5# 2 x 10 each leg
Once again, trying to work on weak hips and knee cave. Probably my favorite part of this training was lying out in the sun waiting for my husband to finish his workout.
Then a 1.5 hour bicycle ride.
