Gina Carano's Next Opponent

Looks like Gina MIGHT have some real competition for next Elite XC fight…Kaitlin Young. Her stand-up looks scary. This looks to be a good fight.

Gina,I still love you…

This will be a good fight. Kaitlin can bang with the best. But, once again, she is a 135 pound fighter and Gina will probably come in at near death dehydrated 140 pound catch weight.

Seriously, can’t she just go up a weight class? Has she ever successfully made 140?

That’s the best part, 140 is an imaginary catch weight they use because she’s too fat for 135, and she hasn’t even made that yet. Opponents, who are placed in a position of getting the only type of exposure a female MMA fighter can hope for in fighing Gina, are put into a situation where it’s “do you want to fight fat Gina, or never fight for EliteXC or have any hope of being seen on TV again?”. I hope she gets her face ripped off by Kaitlin.

Wow Kaitlin looks like a bad ass mother fucker. I’d say she is going to be a handful for Gina.

Dont you dare call her fat, I swear to God I will kill you …

fuck kaitlin young is a beast.

is it bad that women fighters are a HUGE turnon for me?

I feel you.

Definitely not; Kaitlin was looking pretty damn good in her “tale of the tape” shot. And Gina is well, Gina. Just remember if you bag one of those fighters, you better fuck her good or she’ll kick your ass. lol…

Gina isn’t fat, but if you see her between fights like on the Fight Girl reality show she supposedly gets up around 180 and by no means is fit in the sense that she is supposed to be a 135 pound fighter.

SHE"S NOT FAT SHE"S FLUFFY!

Yeah I’ve noticed that too. I in no way am intending to be disrespectful toward Gina but isn’t that kinda unprofessional? There is no doubt rubber banding like that is gonna catch up with her…and this fight honestly could be it.

EDIT-

BTW here goes a “before” pic.

fuck she looks good there

Check out this video of Kaitlin’s training at API (the same place Sean Sherk trains).

I’d like to see what eslse they have her doing since that’s just one workout.

that workout is great for strength especially because it’s done in a metabolic fashion and will have a great effect on conditioning.

imo though i think fight conditioning needs to be done at a more frenetic pace. I think there is something to be said for the amount of work you put in that 5min than just moving heavy shit…

even ross enamit likes using lighter sledgehammers because you can work at a faster pace than a heavier one.

While strength and conditioning don’t have to be trained without one another i think there’s a reason why they’re a little different.

I think, and has been my experience that heart rate is not the end all be all… so while you might reach a heart rate of 180 from doing 20rep squats (slower/strength oriented), i will probably gain more fight applicable attribute from doing twice as many box jumps in the same amount of time (faster pace, more ‘work’).

Each has their place but i hope this isn’t ALL they have her doing… i just tend to see that a lot.

Of course the guys at API know what they’re doing… and Kaitlin is obviously already explosive as hell so maybe she needs the strength work in conjunction with conditioning.

</end rambling>

I hope Kaitlin wins. The staypuft ginamello makes me mad with her weight juggling, then showing up and having to stand on one foot in order to be only on pound over. Thats all pretty fishy. I don’t really follow womens MMA but I’m not impressed with her professionalism.

god i could watch that video all day lol.

Wowzahs…

But I’d still hit that like a caveman.
