I was diagnosed with Gilbert’s Syndrome 6 years ago. It is a condition, not a disease, and doesn’t have any real side effects. Basically it means that your body doesn’t produce enough hemoglobin to rebuild white blood cells correctly and your liver has problems detoxifying certain drugs.
I’ve been trying to gain weight for quite some time now, I consider myself a hard gainer. I take in as many calories as I can a day, I take Vitamin C, L-glutamine/amino acids, protein, and creatine which my body thanks me for.
Having Gilbert’s Syndrome, I have to be careful as to what I put my liver through, Vitamin B6 by itself is a big NO-NO along with Niacin, some fish oils (Halibut and Cod oils). After looking at a lot of the weight gainer/mass building supplements, I found some have as much as 3600% Vitamin B6.
I will take in 4000-5000 calories a day, I work out at least 5 times a week. I am 6’1.5" and i’ll weigh myself and be 184.5 at 9 in the morning, by 9 at night I’m down to 177. I have an extremely high metabolism. It is like pulling teeth to keep weight on.
My question is…what supplements can I take to not screw up my liver and get the muscle mass and progress I desire?
