when doing situps on the GHR bench how far down do you go?
if sitting upright on the bench at 90 degree angle, how far down should I go? to 180? or past 180, in other words past full parralel?
any other tips on effective GHR situps?

I bet 10 dollars someone is going to come in and say “why do situps? all you need to do is squats and deadlifts”.
i just go intill i feel a good stretch but it depends on what you feel is comfortable.

That’s the nature of message boards. Deal with it. In this case, I say even if you’re going to train your core, there are better ways than sit-ups. And show me someone who does heavy compounds, gets lean, and doesn’t have a great set of abs. Maybe the OP doesn’t care, but you brought it up.

I didn’t bring it up, not really. Was meant as a joke more than anything. Seems i struck a nerve though. You were probably going to type exactly that, right?
Also, whether he does compounds or not doesnt matter since seeing abs has all to do with body fat.
I do GHR situps all the time. I usually stop right at or just above having my torso parallel to the ground in order to keep constant tension on the abs.
I could have sworn I just read an article recently that discussed how these were a fairly inefficient ab exercise relative to others out there. I could be wrong though, I’ll have to find it.

And milk.
Ok, now it’s been said, let’s move on.
With the GHR situps, I agree with robo1. I usually go down to parallel or slightly below to really tax the abs. Just remember to stay tight and not use momentum. Experiment tho and find what works best for you.
I usually go do either just below or right to parallel.
