I like what Cage did with the character. Short of some minor cheesiness and an ending that was way too cute for a movie like this, overall it wasn’t bad.
Eva Mendes is worth seeing the movie for.

I’ll be going Sat, the thing I joked about with some other comic guys is people have tattoos of the rider but have no clue about the story
Gotta love those bikes. Bummer out to learn the ending was not up to par.

It was “sweet”. I didn’t think the rider did “sweet”. Other than that, he got it down. He really came across like someone who just likes riding as far as being “Johnny Blaze”. It had some “old western” influence and the special effects prove that looking at previews months before the movie is released don’t let you in on the final result.
Ghost Rider was my favorite super hero of all time when I was a kid. He was one of the few fictional characters that seemed both fictional and real at the same time. I never thought they’d pick Nicolas Cage to play the role, but they pulled it off. Now that I think about it, he fits the role perfectly. I’ve always liked his acting.
I’m not feeling too much Nick Cage as Ghost Rider, just like Ben Affleck as DareDevil. I’ll probably give the movie a chance just to see Eva Mendez.

Official Professor X seal of approval.
I wasn’t a believer, but I might give Cage a chance…
Ghost Rider wasn’t screened for critics, which is always a huge red flag. I’m curious though, so I may check it out.

Viewers on Yahoo have given it a “B”.

I personally hate most critic reviews.
Good to hear that the movie surpasses the previews. A friend was decrying the “uninspiring” commercials last week. I’m definitely going to check it out.
Although…since they finally released “Ghost Rider” #94 last week, my Ghost Rider experience (not to mention collection) is pretty much complete for me.
I’m going to see it tomorrow. It’s good to see a thumbs up.

Critics are tearing it apart.

I think Eva looked even hotter than she normally does. Her boobs were poppin up practically every time you saw her. Very Niiiiice! I liiiiike!
I also liked that the main bike, before it got all Ghost-Rider’d out, was a Panhead.
My main complaint, and hopefully this isn’t ruining anything for anyone, is that he killed people too easily.

That and his main enemy was a pussy. I really didn’t care about Mendez’s lines in the movie as long as they kept putting her in really tight dresses. I read some critics didn’t like the way the skull looks. I am truly wondering how else this could have been done. It isn’t like they fucked up the way The Hulk did in terms of looking half way realistic.
The best part of the movie is probably everything leading up to when he turns into the rider. They could have done more with that and the kid playing him when he was younger did a good job.
Did Cage use Rogaine or get a hair transplant or something? It looks like he grew a lot of hair…or pasted some on his head. Or maybe that’s what CGI can do for you these days.
Wake me up when they make the “Iron Fist and Power Man” movie.

Critics are calling it a hair piece so I guess that’s what it was. I never paid that much attention to him. One thing they are railing on is one scene where he looks at himself in the mirror. They are calling his extremely ripped reflection CGI (if it was, they are getting better at it)…so maybe his hair was CGI too.

They are working on an Iron Fist movie. The guy who played “Toad” in X-Men is the lead. They weren’t able to get the rights to anything associated with Luke Cage (Powerman) so they are even changing his girlfriend in the movie supposedly.
I guess the Luke Cage movie starring Tyrese caused some problems with copyrights.

Ok, maybe you don’t like Nicolas Cage much, but his acting is no where near as bad as Ben Afflecks acting was in the DareDevil movie.
