You guys are the best lol. But ya 405lbs isn’t that big of a deal seconds after you did it.
I don’t know about “seconds”… I was hugely jacked up for the rest of my workout after I first did it.

But within a day or two I didn’t feel so impressed with it.
Will 500 be like that? I havent hit that milestone yet.
Nor have I… it’s my goal for this year, but I bet it’ll be the same.
Not going to hit it this year, my other goal is to do it weighing 205. So trying to get that weight down first. But yea probably like ever goal in my life outside of lifting, once you hit it its on to the next one.
What’s your PR? I’ll race ya… winner picks an avi for the loser to use for 2 weeks
NO I am not falling for that again, I was stuck with that gay ass Tom Brady for a fucking month.

435 is my PR and I was weighing 250.
Weenie.

I just hit 435 this week (avi shot). 500 this year might be an aggressive goal but I was only pulling 275 last november

edit - bw at 220 for what it’s worth

Yes I know but man that was hard to live with that Avi picture shown.

I lost all desire to bet on here due to this.

Congrats at the PR and at that body weight.

500 was 10x the high that 400 was. Something about a quarter ton that has a nice ring to it. Of course, the second you hit it, on the walk out of the gym someone will inevitably pull 600+ and bring you right back down to earth.

Thanks…hopefully both will be up significantly by year’s end

You guys inspire me. By the end of the year I should weigh 180lb and I’m hoping for a 300lb deadlift.

5 bills is, without a doubt, a dick extender lift. It feels much better than 400 and lasts longer. I agree the glow from 4 does fade quick, which is bullshit, lol…

I pretty much stopped pulling after I hit it lol. Due to stalling and focusing on otehr shit.

I’m pulling again now though, and thinking about a run at 600, but who the fuck knows, i don’t.

LOL!

500 put me 100+ lbs ahead of anyone at my gym. So I just stay out of the powerlifting forum and ignore Hungy and Meat and I’m good to go, deluding myself into thinking I"m awesome.

Beans if you make a run at 6 I’ll head in that direction too.

Nobody around here breathes the same air as me when it comes to that shit, it’d be nice to have some motivation.

CB/Brad,

Make it a 3 way battle if you get serious about this action. About 50 pounds off right now, but that 550 wall is thickkkkkkkk to break through. It will be done though.

I’m actually running 531 for it, to a degree.

Working pretty well.

Give me a couple of weeks to decide, lol. because I’m afraid that I’ll just get stuck in on teh lift again and ignore other shit, like I did before.

Sounds good gents.

Shit it’d be nice to have singular focus for awhile with at least one element of my day.

Let me know if you’re down in a couple weeks and we’ll get a thread started, track workouts and whatnot.

LMAO dude I’m sorry but you need to reread what you just wrote, and think in the context of nailing a fat chick.

Remember how I said the glow fades quickly?

Within 3 hours of me trying to race someone to 500, three guys have decided to race to 600.

fml

Sorry man, when you’re already dl’ing farm equipment for laughs you have to set bigger goals in motion.

My bad.

210kgx2 (like 470pounds after a year training the deadlift seriously, put on 70kg in 6 months. 405x8. 405 is a very acceptable benchmark, in estats it’s not considered strong but I don’t know many people who pull that much. Haven’t deadlifted heavy in a while though, should really get back on it

in all of my time in commercial gyms (i know thats the problem right there) i have NEVER seen anyone DL 405. Whenever I got up that high the entire gym would basically stop what they were doing to watch.

depending on BW, a 405 pull is a decent DL. 500 is going to be awesome though. I just started running 531 and hope to get there soon.

Sweet, now I hate myself…

I just got back to 500(for 3 even, and 25lbs lighter bodyweight) after about 3 months back after my long ass post surgery layoff. Hoping to hit my 545 again soon, then running to add the 6th plate(585, not quite 6 but w/e it’s my next goal). The Big Fish Small Pond effect does feel pretty cool though. When I put the 5th plate on the gym stops and even the cardio people start craning to look. I’ve seen ~5 other guys hit 405+, one actually hit low 6’s but he sadly doesn’t train there anymore.

Meanwhile(totally unrelated to this thread) my bench is completely fucking stuck and I’m sure it’s related to my injury, but at least my legs are back!

psssh, i maxed 405 about 3 years ago.

Took a hiatus and my max is no where near that now :frowning:

I also weighed 210

It’s not uncommon, well depends on who you surround yourself with.

Rule number 19, surround yourself with good people…

You guys all talk about how few people in your gyms can deadlift 405… I’ve only seen one guy deadlift PERIOD in 2 years at the gym I frequent most. He was deadlifting 315 and used paper towels (the ones made for wiping off benches) as his straps.

I’m pretty sure that fucker is the one who got me in trouble for the noise of deadlifting, when his makeshift strap broke at lockout.
