Getting the Most Out of Phenom Shirt

I was wondering what is the best way to get the most out of a phenom? Such as how low to wear it on my chest the groove and any lil thing that might help. I have a close back shirt that is two sizes to small and im trying to get the most i can out of it any advice would be helpful. THanks

I haven’t used my Phenom a lot but what helped me get more out of it was pulling the sides and armpits down, and then pulling the back of the shirt down while pulling the collar down. The neck should dig into your traps rather firmly and should help set the shirt right. Wear a belt, and try to take out all the slack and wrinkles before belting it.
Have fun. If it is the proper size, let alone two sizes two small, it’s gonna hurt!

Agreed. I used to bench on a single ply phenom and rather than have the underarm seam in my armpits i set it up so the seam is a couple inches lower kind of at the very top of the tricep/bicep. It will cut you up pretty good but this is where the shirt will lock up when you bring the bar down and you’ll get some pretty crazy pop out of it on the way up.

I use a two-ply Phenom- it’s the bullshit stock Inzer plies of one ply hardcore material and one ply “heavy duty” material. However, I do have a super-neck on it with a one inch neck scoop.

When my shirt was still new and tight, I found that the I did best with setting the neck moderately low. If I cranked it down all the way, it was too hard to touch. Plus, with the lowest part of the sccop only halfway down my pecs, the shirt still covered my shoulders a bit and gave some support there. I would imagine that a closed back would be pretty similar.

As far as additional tweaking- you can try putting on the shirt with your palms facing up, this will tighter the chest. Like most Inzer shirts, the Phenom comes with pretty long sleeves. You can fold the extra sleave material in rolls- this will tighten the arms. Alternatively, you can bunch the sleeves over the elbow. This seems to give a little more help off the chest.

I have had a lot of luck training in this shirt by alternating reverse band work and board presses (generally 2 or 3 boards). The reverse bands help with keeping a good groove and teaching you to touch- even with light weight. The shirt will not help you a lot on the boards- not like a stiffer shirt like a Viking, or Rage X or Katana, so I would focus on reps here to get stronger.
