Getting Stronger without Hypertrophy?

You said it negated the training effect, and then cited sources that did not support your point. You were correct in your statement about the benefits of box jumps in regards to reduced stress on the joints.

Being clear in your statements is helpful no matter who you’re talking to. I don’t know it all, and I never will. But, I do know how to clearly make a statement. If I’m wrong, then that’s fine. I’d rather be corrected and learn something out of the ordeal then have somebody let me be giving out misinformation.[/quote]

No body likes Sergeant Semantics. Come on, don’t be that guy lol.

He said that it negates the training effect. That’s not semantics, that’s saying something completely different than what he intended.

Then again, I’m just a know-it-all.

EDIT: And just to end this before it goes anywhere else, I’m not trying to insult you. I’m not trying to be some internet smartass. I just asked you to clarify your statement. It has sufficiently been clarified now, so that’s that.

Love how this became a debate on the box squat…

To the OP, keep up with sport specific training. Also think 2 days of 5/3/1 would be good for you, along with adding some mass. Don’t want a pencil neck forever, or do you?

Actually it was about the box jump.

Now THAT was semantics, folks.
