Well not really…but I didn’t know where else to post this.
My dad has been doing EC’s magnificent mobility and well his pain has decreased quite a bit and he’s been doing it for almost 2 months now.
So although he does feel better, still not the way I’d like to see my old man.
He has pain in the top of his glute and the lower back…sometimes it feels “weak” he says when he bends over…I don’t think he has anything pulled or discs out of place he doesn’t do anything too strenous…I take care of everythin for him.
So I’m here asking a question to you fellas, what kinda doc or something can I make an appointment for him…I don’t want just “take ibuprofen” I’m sure there are other measures out there for him to heal up better.
Any suggestions, what kinda doctor should I go to for him?
Hey, im glad you posted this. My pops is going under the knife this week to fix some disk issues. he’s been dealing with it for a while, even the docs said they were surprised at the amount of degeneration in his back. Im going to send him the magnificent mobility deal, hope he does it, and see if it works.
Damn…what were his symptoms? What made him go to the docotors?
My dad can move everything fine…just sometimes he just feels some pain in his glute and low back. He actually was talking to me today while we were working (we work together) he said…man the last few days we’ve been movin around workin, my back actually hasn’t bugged me at all!
So he never stretches so I’m gonna get him to start stretching, and just movni around more.
He used to work very hard for his company, but now he has a bunch of employess so he’s a lot more laid back and does paperwork/sits in his truck etc etc.
I’d really just like for there to be not even a hint of discomfort to him…
I’d still like to send him to the doctors…I mean I don’t think his discs are degenerated or anything…but i’m not completely sure what kinda doctor to send him to?
Some type of therapist, but which kind specifically?
My dad’s back has been a piece of shit since his mid 20’s. He fell a lot when he was working on a ship. He went to his general prac and they sent him to a spine specialist. He would have times where he just coudn’t ever get comfortable and the pain was ridiculous. This past week he’s been on meds just waiting til this thursday. luckily, its a minor, noninvasive, outpatient procedure. hopefully ir works.
Find someone that does z-health in your area (www.zhealth.net). Try to find someone who is good at it - just like any other profession/system/whatever, skill varies based on practitioner.

Pain in glutes/upper leg would suggest nerve impingement, so perhaps he does have some malalignment in his discs???
Also, mrodock; why have they stopped recommending scorpions? Is that both prone and supine?[/quote]
Yes, both prone and supine to my knowledge. Because rotation that is driven by the lumbar spine is problematic. This is because the lumbar spine has such limited rotation capabilities.
Scorpions also do not fit in with the idea to increase ROM at the thoracic spine and hips and improve core stability.
Yeah no no definaetly doesn’t do the scorpions. Lol I had a good talk with my dad today while we were driving and I brought up his back again
So even he doesn’t understand his pain haha: But this is EXACTLY how it goes…He isn’t from Canada so for him to explain it to me the first time…well he didn’t make sense.
EXACTLY how it goes is as is:
"I have no pain now, wow can you believe it?..All I have to do is move around, I haven’t done the exercises (here he means EC’s MM drills) and my back actually feels good. The thing is my back it doesn’t hurt (I laughed when he said this, cause I thought that was the whole point, but he found what the word is in english).
My back is just gets STIFF. It’s like I’ll sit too long in my truck or doing paperwork and it gets tight and stiff and well it kinda hurts me. But now that I’ve been moving around working with you all day, my back actually feels good…there is some stiffness still but feels much better"
So that’s his problem…he says glute pain? geez lol
So that’s what he has…stiffness/tightness in the low back…mostly on the ONE side only.
So exactly what kinda things can he do to fix this: He is started to do stretches for the quads, hips, and TFL/Glute.
Any particular foam rolling exercises he should focus on?
I’m guessing this can be easily fixed…if I don’t have to send him to the doc, the better. (aka he doesn’t want to go)
So I have to play doctor here for him…all advice above is greatly appreciated lol but yeah any thoughts?
