On the subject of GTAV, did anybody else read that the budget for it was 265 freaking million dollars? That is far and away the most expensive videogame of all time, and even costs more than all but like 2 of the biggest budget hollywood films ever made. Hell, its a bigger budget than Avatar had.
Holy hell its gonna be epic.
Did they really? They must be awful confident their gonna make some serious sales. That’s what 4.5 million copies to break even (that’s assuming they get all $60 which they don’t).
GTA IV grossed $500 million in its first week. And it appears that the demand for GTA V is going to be the same, if not greater, than what is was when IV was released. And even prior to GTA IV, every game in the Grand Theft Auto franchise was pretty much THE best-selling game when it was released in its time.
So they have every reason to be confident that they’re going to make their money back.
Ya, that seems crazy as hell, but that’s what google says too.

Do you have access to Gamefly or a similar service? It’s great for a budget and with some planning you can get a new game 9/10 times.

That’s one thing I hope the next generation of consoles will provide at some point: an online game rental service.
Playstation is already sort of doing it, with their timed trials of certain games. Just set a game rental price and up the time to one or two days and it would be awesome.

Ya, I’m actually suprised they don’t do this. I know Gamefly is unlimited PC downloads with the base membership.
Ya, read that earlier. Can’t wait until tomorrow!
Sigh, I have not bought a GTA game in a long, long time. But I may end up having to buy this one.

Ya, I did not play IV. The last one I played all the way through was III on PS2.
This one though looks really good especially the online.

I have played them all, just have not bought them ever. Borrowed or rented. First couple was just mindless run around fun.
I will not be doing the online with this, but jesus it sounds huge. Bigger than Red Dead type of open world.

It pains me to have to sit back and watch GTAV fly by for a month without buying it
Still sticking to my guns and seeing if they do indeed bring out a copy for the next-gen after the PS4 release so I don’t get suckered into the PS3 one and find out they were lying. I’m sure one of my friendos will give in early enough, so I have that to double back on.

Ya, I was hoping to grab it on PS4, but got suckered into it on PS3. I figure it’s the last current gen game I’ll buy with Killzone & Battlefield 4 being the first next gen games in November. That’s basically 2 months of play time, which isn’t so bad.
Plus even if it come out on PS4 I bet it’s not until Spring/Summer of 2014.
Although I, for God knows what reason, put Skyrim back in my 360 on Saturday… Damn that game sucks me in every time!
