Still sticking to my guns and seeing if they do indeed bring out a copy for the next-gen after the PS4 release so I don’t get suckered into the PS3 one and find out they were lying. I’m sure one of my friendos will give in early enough, so I have that to double back on.
Ya, I was hoping to grab it on PS4, but got suckered into it on PS3. I figure it’s the last current gen game I’ll buy with Killzone & Battlefield 4 being the first next gen games in November. That’s basically 2 months of play time, which isn’t so bad.

Plus even if it come out on PS4 I bet it’s not until Spring/Summer of 2014.

Although I, for God knows what reason, put Skyrim back in my 360 on Saturday… Damn that game sucks me in every time!
One of my buddies picked it up today, it’s so fucking fun. So far I’ve only played as Mike and Franklin outside of the prologue, but some of the early missions are really damn fun, dialogue’s pretty great and the voice acting is really good.

I can’t wait to get to Trevor.

Ya, I get to play it in about…8 hours :frowning:

UPS doesn’t usually bring me my stuff until 5 or later so I got awhile to wait until I get to play. Kinda sucks only going to have a hour or two to play before bed then I won’t have time to play anymore until friday and saturday when I’m off from work.

There’s a rumor floating around that it will be coming to the next gen systems.

Someone hacked the game files on the PS3, and in one of the config files for the game, there was an operating system setting in there for “orbis” which I believe is the name for the PS4 operating system. I’ll see if I can find the thread for it.

There’s a fair amount of evidence floating around to suggest a next-gen release. Besides, I couldn’t believe that all the PlayStation/Xbox footage they’ve shown of the game pre-release has been strictly on 7-8 year old systems.

Any word on how GTAV runs on the 360 with a flash drive?

FYI if you got GTA V on 360 Rockstar is advising gamers not to install the “Play” disc. Apparently it’s causing performance issues. PS3 Blueray doesn’t have the same issue though.

I think under the right circumstances I could brain someone for a chance at getting this game.

Oh boo, come to think of it I’d probably drop my nutsack on a lot of sleeping faces too if it meant getting this game. Wait until you see the gun customization, you can even go all “No Country For Old Men” with the shotguns. It’s great.

I’ll have to spend a couple more hours with this before I come to a concrete answer…

The hilarious thing about this is that when you jump a long distance it won’t jump to catching a ledge like old games normally will. I tried to jump from rooftop to rooftop to escape cops and I faceplanted square into the wall of the building, and fell to my death screaming, it was glorious.

Just in case my plan falls through and it doesn’t get released on hard copy, I’m sure they’ll create a digital version made to download for PS4. In good news, new management in my gym has dropped the 6 months - 1 year prices by nearly half including an extra in advance discount, now I only have one week left before I have the money for the console, one more to pay for online, and every week after should net me another game. By the end of November, I should have a solid array of shit to play until GTAV does get digitised.

And I just completed the first heist at a Jewellery Store, and it was so, so much fun. Like I knew the heists would be fun, but there’s even some micro-management that goes into the cut that the crew gets, how skilful the team is, the entry plans etc… I really love what they did with it, can’t wait to get to the next one. Finally playing as Trevor too.

On the subject of GTAV, did anybody else read that the budget for it was 265 freaking million dollars? That is far and away the most expensive videogame of all time, and even costs more than all but like 2 of the biggest budget hollywood films ever made. Hell, its a bigger budget than Avatar had.

Holy hell its gonna be epic.
Did they really? They must be awful confident their gonna make some serious sales. That’s what 4.5 million copies to break even (that’s assuming they get all $60 which they don’t).
GTA IV grossed $500 million in its first week. And it appears that the demand for GTA V is going to be the same, if not greater, than what is was when IV was released. And even prior to GTA IV, every game in the Grand Theft Auto franchise was pretty much THE best-selling game when it was released in its time.

So they have every reason to be confident that they’re going to make their money back.
Wow.

Yeah, i think its safe to say they will get a pretty good return on their investment.
Just read they made $800 million yesterday. Holy fuck…

Some reviews from amazon:
I just wanted to write something quick here. I hope to write something more here soon when I get more playtime but I wanted to write a review that hits on a few key things that we didn’t already know.

After playing part four there were a few things that turned me off and reduced my playtime. I am so excited to share that two of my main frustrations have been fixed.

If you have been following the media and the leaks on this game than you know it’s beautiful and you have a good ideas as to wether or not its something you want to play.

Things I didn’t know before:

 • You will no longer have to drive from your house to the starting point if a mission over and over again each time you fail it. This will save you a large amount of frustration. There is a lot of content here so there is no need for you to waste time with repetition.

 • You can now completely skip a portion of the mission. If you fail three times then you will be given the option to jump past a portion of the mission and move forward. There is a point penalty but I can be worth it if it saves you from pulling out all of your hair.

Most noticeable improvement.

 • the cars drive excellently. GTAIV had the cars feeling as if they have four wheel drive while on ice. The cars this time around have a really nice weight to them. It’s hard not to feel like you are in a solid racing game while driving around the beautiful city
and
Picked this game up at midnight. Granted I have a young child and I’m married I wasn’t up all night but I have put about 8 hours(maybe 9) into this game so far. After that many hours I’ve only made 9.8% progress so far(9 hours may not seem like a lot but any given CoD game I would’ve beat by then and then some). The world is massive. I mean take GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption, combine them and then add a forest. Then you will have GTA V. My time was spent exploring the changing world, taking in sights, getting wanted levels, dying randomly, playing sports and doing misc. civilian missions. I’ve only seen maybe 7% of the North part of the map(the wooded areas). I can’t wait to go hunting either.
With a game of this scale I can already tell I’ll be playing it for months without getting bored and don’t even get me started on how many times I’ll probably replay it. That’s saying a lot too, with all the games out there that only last 6-8 hours to get through and after you’re done…you’ve done everything there is to do.
I would say the only downside to this masterpiece is that it’s a bit easier to die than it was in previous GTA titles. Which isn’t even a downside really, more of a nitpick. They also added the "save anytime’ feature except when you’re in a mission, which is very convenient. Switching between characters is fun, something that will def. keep the game constantly fresh.
Don’t listen to the hipsters who just don’t like being part of a crowd, who say this game is a letdown. It really doesn’t get any better than this. Coming from someone who loves action, open world and shooter games…this game does not disappoint in any way.
They haven’t even introduced multiplayer yet!!
