The Metal Gear presentation was my favorite!
The PS4 just won this console generation by default. 100 dollars cheaper for a more powerful system, no used game restrictions, no mandatory online. Just as good, if not better current lineup than Xbox One…Im fuckin ecstatic. The ONLY thing i could see people nit pick here is that playstation plus is required to play multiplayer online (though it will not be required to stream videos and use apps such as Netflix and redbox) but playstation plus is such a bargain compared to Xbox live (which is still mandatory subscription based)
I literally just bought my PS4 on Amazon. As soon as they announce a release date officially i am taking that day off work. Nerd raging that hard right now.
Also, FFXV, couldnt get much of a feel for the gameplay based on the video shown, but the presentation is incredible and the world and tone are so much better than what we’ve seen in the last 3 or 4 entries. Super excited for this.
Also, Gran Turismo 6 for Ps3 this year. FUCK YEAH.
If you watched the microsoft conference vs the sony conference, the cheers and applause were 5 times greater in regards to the PS4. It was pretty awesome.

The only announcement that excited me greater than this was pretty much the entire Sony press conference LOL
Seriously, BFIII is going to be like crack running on frostbite III.

Also my favourite, it looks so god damn good, and I’m happy they finally managed to get a fluid “diving to prone” motion.
And I’m so glad to see Master Miller come back, all my Metal Gear 2 memories are coming flooding back. The graphics for Afghanistan look really good, and I cannot wait to make use of sandstorms and blizzards.
Huey Emmerich getting his time in the light will be good to see also, there are so many characters from John’s earlier timeline that I can’t wait to see make a major appearance now.
I’m going to get a PS4 like nobody’s business, I will be playing this shit for dangerous periods of time.
Is anybody else kind of disappointed at how the PS4 console turned out? It’s still better than the Xbox One, which looks like a total shambles, but they could have been a little more artsy and futuristic than some sleek rhomboid box. Always liked the idea of a blue light line that radiated out to the sides from the centre of the console, maybe even spelling “PS4”.

Yeah, a lot of people are getting pissy that EA is holding the production license, maybe it will be good though.
Mirrors Edge 2 is in development by them too, so that’s real good.
Regarding Battlefront 3, what would you guys prefer, first or third person?
Alls im hoping for is incredible destruction with the dice engine allowing for massive battles to be going on inside star destroyers the same time as space battles outside.
Tie fighters coming in for strafing runs blowing holes in the the capital ships, the vacuum sucking out troopers. Marines setting up det packs and time bombs to tear the ship apart. Running back to their ships whilst the massive ship slowly starts tearing into peices…
A nerd can dream lol

That’s a difficult one. I want it to be first person because I like the immersion of that better and cockpit views would be really cool looking, firing in first person feels a little better too. But I want it to be third-person so it doesn’t draw too much on Call Of Duty and Battlefield (especially) as comparisons, and keeps itself in line with the third person of the previous games. I also feel that choosing lightsaber-equipped heroes would be finicky in first-person.
It’s a hard one, but I think third person would be nicer if they can pull off some impressive character models and movement.
I want some kind of stealth class, kind of like the TF2 spy maybe, some kind of assassin backstab class.

I honestly dont give a shit what the box looks like, i’d pay it if it looked like a brown paper bag.
But i like black, i like, sleek, and i like conservative. So im all good with it. Looks better than Xbox One for sure.
It needs to be third person, and remain true to everything that made the original battlefront games great. I fear a first person battlefront by Dice becomes Battlefield 3 in the Star Wars universe.
Also, you had Melee types such as Jedi’s and unit types that could change form like those droids that rolled into dangerous little balls of fury. This sort of stuff is going to work better as a third person shooter than first.

Stealth class is a good shout, would create a good dynamic.
If they get the space combat as good as Rouge Squadron it could honestly be the greatest game ever created haha.

Did you never play the 1 or 2 in first person?
It was pretty good but as you said the melee types and just general infantry doing rolling movements became really disorientating.
But in all honesty I would pay 40 pound for Battlefield 3: Star Wars haha

I’m sure they’ll release slimmer and smaller variants after a few years as AMD learns to manufacture less power consuming chips. The first PS3 was huge compared to the latest model. So if you think the first versions of the next gen consoles are huge and ugly, there’s hope.

Oh it’s not the size of it, it’s more just the design in general. It’s not something I’m getting really vexed over much, just seems like a pretty bland design to go for aesthetically. Always liked how the PS3 had it’s rounded curves and looked a lot better that way than the blocky sheet-like PS2. It’s not atrocious by any means, nor even necessarily bad, just feels like they cut it shorter than they could have. It’s very minimal and that’s not necessarily bad to avoid the idea of going really flashy and spending too much time making this thing a work of art on the outside as well as inside, but I just kind of prefer the style of some of the fake designs that have come out in the past year, maybe they got my hopes up for a really pretty machine.
I guess I like it being slanted a little though, looks smoother than just having a big rectangular block with a disc slot banged onto one side.
Anybody else buy theirs already? (PS4, of course. Nobody here is dumb enough to pay 500 for Microsoft’s DRM brick, or so i assume)

How about both? You should be able to switch according to your preference I think.
Ya, Battlefied with star wars characters. I don’t even care if it’s basically just a copy, that shit would be tight.
^Also add in some X-Wing battles like N64 Rogue Squadron = Epic
