WTf? Playstation 4 games run 100 bucks a pop?
Fuck. You need a college education and a masters just to be able to afford to play.
On the one hand I agree, on the other hand, if you consider how much time you spend on a really good title, how much is that really?
There is no way they would ever run titles that expensive, I am willing to bet the price range won’t change, people like video games because it is relatively cheap and easy entertainment… The loss of consumers on a price jump that high would cause a huge loss of profits in the long run… This isnt like selling luxury cars its meant to be cheap easy family value entertainment.

The system must cost close to $800-1,000 (probably not) if games are that costly.

Last time they sold consoles at a huge loss and tried to make up for it in game sales. So there’s an inverse realtionship between game price and console price.
Second, I don’t think games will end up that expensive. Early placeholder price for people who MUST book games now for some reason.
Third, the hardware in the consoles is a lot cheaper than what they used in the PS3 at launch. It should be cheaper than the PS3 at launch.
The thing is it won’t be cheaper at launch regardless if people know that the hardware is cheaper. Just my opinion on the matter. $800-$1,000 was probably an extreme guess.
Well just got my ps3 so it would be atleast two years before I’d even consider the ps4. I don’t even like paying 60 bucks for a game and in fact haven’t paid full price for a new game since getting my ps3 so I don’t really see myself paying that much for a new game. If thats the case then I’d just wait until the holiday season and just stock up when everything is on sale.
I will say, it must be tough to act nowadays since everything in green screen. Less of a real world feel that has to be overcome to portray a character well.

That’s why they dressed up Nic Cage as a Borg-assimilated Beetlejuice. Draws attention away from all the screaming and gurning.

Eventually, even the actors will just be CGI with voice overs.
I read somewhere used games will still work. I don’t think it’s backwards compatible though.
Saying “used games will work” is one thing, but the question I have is how will they work? If you have to pay $5-10 to “unlock” single player parts of used games - similar to how the online passes currently work, that’s misleading but technically correct to say “used games will work”.
What the fuck.
No wonder the console market is so popular. So many mugs to fleece the money off.

No kiddin’.
When I found this site - http://beforevfx.tumblr.com - I was reminded just how crazy it’s gotten, with green screens being used for even something as basic as locations outside a window, instead of just for dangerous stunts or imaginary creatures.

Ha! If this hasn’t been made yet, it’s an opportunity waiting to happen.

Here I thought the suits were somewhat real and achievable with a movie budget lol.
You’d think so, yeah.
I understand that the whole thing couldn’t have been done practically, but I guess we’re at the point where it really does work out cheaper (and faster?) to do it all digitally, rather than doing whatever’s possible with wardrobe/props and CGI-ing the rest.

To be real…it isn’t so much that it might be “impossible”…but for them to look that stylized and for the helmets to fit THAT well can only happen in a movie.
I had my gear put together tight when I rode my motorcycle…but anyone who has put time and money into it can tell you that getting a helmet that fit that close to your head so as to not look like an astronaut’s helmet is pretty damn hard to do.
