Geek S**T Generation FOUR.ZERO

im surprised at the new direction of the metal gear solid series. i enjoyed the games for being stealth based, but the recent trailer implies otherwise. this is a great example of how the motion controllers can be used properly though.

I just hope they don’t ruin the story, the game play, and the true nature of MGS in order to include the ability to run around your living room waving a controller.

Funny thing about the PS3 vs 360 debate. I own both and was hyped up on God of War III for quite sometime, but after thoroughly beating GOW I find I play my 360 more. For online play and things of that nature It is unrivaled. Gears of War + a new Halo coming out within six months of each other means I will bee M.I.A. for better part of the year.

Bluray is cool and all but I don’t buy movies that often the last movie I purchased was Black Dynamite. I download and stream my movies to my 360 or PS3 with Tversity. So honestly the PS3 is a great machine but XBOX live trumps it when it comes to online play and fun factor.

OK, I cared 0 about the MGS thing until I saw the watermelon cutting.
I’d pay $60 just to cut fruit virtually all day.

How many people are really excited for 3D gaming?

I’m not too enthused about it. I loved Avatar 3D, but just don’t see myself playing Halo or Left 4 Dead in 3D four hours straight. I demo’d Forza in 3D and after 30 minutes was quite ready to be done. 3D gaming is gonna come with a heavy price tag too. How many folks want to buy a new TV and wear the glasses just to play video games in 3D?

I heard about the PS Move but don’t know anything about it. Care to enlighten us?
You’re looking at a $99 launch price, it’s Sony’s take on a motion control system - and it’s pretty damn good compared to the Wii.

One of the games they demo it on was Tiger Woods Golf, and it gives you full control of the swing (not a pre-programmed motion like we’re used to). It’s really cool, accurate and responsive - only thing is you’ll need multiple sets for more than one player. Obviously not a problem if you can afford it, but I guess that’s why Microsoft went the the route they did (no controls at all).
You will need multiple controllers for some single player games. Fighting Games I’m looking at you.

http://www.geek.com/articles/games/sony-ps3-move-price-announced-49-controller-99-sports-pack-20100615/

The Move Controller = $50 (the one with the LED bulb)
The Directional Controller = $30 (joystick and buttons)
Both Controllers + a game = $100
Both Controllers + a game + PS3 = $400

What irks me the most is that some games will require two Move controllers. You would need four Move controllers to have a PS3 boxing match in the living room with your girlfriend.

fuck that, have you tried hitting her?

What guy hasn’t dreamed of punching his girlfriend in the face?

I figured here would be the best place for this. A porno avatar parody in 3-D

I only logged on for the few minutes left before class to say the “FOUR.ZERO” was kind of emo.

PX should follow up with a picture of his black mascara.

Oh, and I will watch Last Airbender, the original series. You guys have me intrigued.

July Can’t wait especially since they did so well the Spectre short, this time it’s Jonah Hex

I’ve always believed that if you can’t make it good, make it 3d.

And at Jonah Hex, anyone from the south would blow their brains out before having to listen to Megan Fox absolutely butcher a southern accent.

I get it, she is incrdeibly hot,but that does not excuse her acting.

Not a defense of Megan Fox, but Hollywood’s “southern accent” is limited to solely a farcical Georgia antebellum accent. Every Jezebel ever cast seems required to use it, and it’s excruciating no matter who uses it. Julia Roberts’ accent in “Charlie Wilson’s War” was particularly grating.

Surprisingly, Anna Paquin is the only one I’ve heard who can do one right without being irritating in Tru Blood.

Beyonce is pretty close to what women in Taxas often sound like aside from more rural areas.

True enough. Though I swear at the end of season 2 Anna Paquin and Anna Camp (the Preacher’s Wife) were competing to see who could out “accent” the other. Otherwise her accent is low key enough to not be distracting. The accents are fine as long they aren’t over embellished.

What cracks me up is that most of the white folk out of New Orleans speak more like Yanks than southerners, but that never makes it into the show. They out coonassed the coonasses with the Rene character in season 1. The only folks I’ve ever heard speak like that were 50+ years old and never been north of I-10.

No slights meant against True Blood. Just funny how HBO interprets the dialects in an area I’ve been living, or maybe I’ve just gotten so used to it that it sounds normal to me.

I let Rene slide since he turned out to be fake as part of the plot, but that shit irked me as well most of the season. I don’t know anyone his age who speaks like that in that area. It was the single most irritating factor of that whole show.

The other is Anna’s best friend on the show. I don’t where the black girl is from, but her southern accent is way the fuck off.

I think its Northern Georgia/Virginia/Tennessee mixed with angry black woman.

Speaking of True Blood…

Does anyone else HATE this show? I think its a piece of shit. Typical Vampire pretentious bullshit. And the black characters…christ almighty. If you’re black, you’re either getting abused or waiting to be abused.

Werewolves are the only saving grace…even though they still manage to fuck them up.

So the thread dies once I post. Fuck you guys.

There are two kinds of black people in this world. Those getting abused and those waiting to be abused.

I like the Paqtwins best though.

I don’t know…I watch it because it is NOT Twilight.
