Played for about an hour last night. Not sure I’m sold like the above, but it is fun. It’s basically assassins creed with the batman fight mechanics. The movement feels clunky to me though.

I also died 3 times and almost broke one of my controllers too though, so…

Been playin a lot of Smash 4. Little Mac is fun as hell.

I think when it comes out for the Wii-U I’ll go ahead and renege on my stance of never buying another console… I’ll get one with Smash 4 and Mario Kart 8 and then just wait for the new Zelda.

Damn you Nintendo… Damn you for mercilessly preying on my nostalgia.

yup…

Fucking bullshit Nintendo!!

The hype is real with Smash Bros. After MK8, i’m literally putty in Nintendo’s hands.

Shame the likes of Destiny, Watchdogs and Titanfall failed to live up to their hype.

^I think people have been overly critical of Destiny. It’s a solid game especially being a new IP.

You can never be overly critical of a game that has on disc DLC, which in turn causes it to have a shite story.

Most people being critical about it are also giving fair scores - the likes of Angry Joe gave it a 6/10. Above average scores is reasonable for a ‘solid game’ since it does nothing new, has incredibly repetitive gameplay, shit loot for a grind fest and patchworks in the game to allow DLC.

Well to be fair most games today have DLC on the disc, which I agree is total BS.

Almost all shooters are repetitive. I’m not sure what Angry Joe was expecting… 6/10 is fine I don’t care so much about the rating. It sounds like he played story (repetitive & not a great story) and PvP (which I think is garbage, but whatever). I didn’t hear anything about the strikes, which imo are the most fun. I also didn’t hear him mention the 1st raid, which is drastically different than anything else in the game.

I think a lot of folks didn’t quite grasp the MMO aspect Destiny was going for. The grind is a big part of it not so different from WoW another Activision title.

I guess the difference is I’m willing to wait and see how Bungie responds/adjusts before deeming the game shit. A lot of people absolutely hated Diablo III when it first came out for very similar reasons. I picked up the Reaper of Souls edition and it’s hands down better than the original with all the updates to the loot system. I don’t see any reason Destiny can’t do the same.

All that said, they better do something quickly because there are a lot of games coming out soon and people will be jumping ship.

When did anyone say it’s shit? People are just saying its above average, which it is. You yourself have just said the story and PVP is shite. How can a game be considered more than good if it is lacking in those two areas?

It basically nether succeeds as a shooter, because its such a grind because some believe it has to be to make it MMO like, or as an MMO cause its story, exploration, and even multiplayer aspects are fairly average. Diablo 3 was judged fairly on launch, as is Destiny. You judge a game for what it is on your screen at that time, not its potential.

The guy in the video you posted basically said it’s shit. I can’t remember if he actually said, “this game is shit,” but he said as much either way.

I said the campaign is repetitive, the story is lacking (average), and I think the PvP is bad. I don’t like the PvP because it’s just like Halo and I hated the Halo multi-player. I am obviously in the minority there. The game can be above average because of the additional areas the video doesn’t touch on and I mentioned.

I’m not saying Destiny is GOY, I’m just saying give it a chance. In my opinion it’s an enjoyable game that could use improvements in a lot of areas.

Read the City of Silence Mini (Warren Ellis):

It’s “old school” cyber punk type stuff. Art was average to me, but I liked the coloring, though it could have left you feeling a bit dirtier.

Storywise… the tone and the setting were nailed, but they rushed the plot and the behavior of the characters didn’t seem natural - and I’m not even counting the stuff thrown in there for shock value… I’m talking major plot developments from their actions. A lot of it seemed to be trying too hard to be weird.

Read 30 Days of Night. The art was cool in an abstract/impressionist way, if the proportions and and panels weren’t sometimes off.

The art went great w/ the tone of the story, but I think I actually liked the movie more because I thought it was going to suck and it filled in some of the details that were left out in a 3 book story.

I guess now I need to check out the sequel.

Say whuttt???

Suicide Squad movie!?!

Read the Nightly News

The layouts are pretty good in that they aren’t all that generic. The art is good, not great, but that’s partly personal preference. It has a lot more graphic designy look than the average book. Colors are admittedly non-exciting.

The story is just OK. It’s cool to see things from the conspiracy theory side of things, but it doesn’t go enough into character development to care about anyone. The story also glosses over some major turns in the plot that make you question people’s motivation. The addition of little factoids and infographics are a nice touch, but you could tell these got left out as the series continued to save time. It has a decent, but not obscene amount of gore, but I wouldn’t mind seedier setting that the graphic design look kind of left out.

Looks decent, I will pick it up when the price drops as I don’t feel it’s worth £40, same with Alien:Isolation!

Marvel is raping DC.
