In case anyone was wondering Destiny is fucking awesome.
Okay is it all online gaming?
Or does it have its own story game to play?
You’re always online, but the main focus of the game is the story itself. There are three modes; Story, Strike, and Crucible.
The story is exactly as it sounds. It’s the campaign. You can play it by yourself, with a fire team (4 players), or with random people doing the same mission as you. Each mission is probably 10 minutes or so.
Strike is hard to explain. It’s like a stand alone story or side quest within the over all story. You can play this the same way as the story (alone or with others), but it is much better to play with others. The strike missions have all been much more challenging with 3-4 skirmishes that last 5-15 minutes with short breaks in between. I played a strike mission on the moon last night and it took about 30 minutes.
The crucible is the online multiplayer. It feels a lot like Halo. I haven’t tried it yet, but played it in the Alpha and Beta testing.
It sounds like you and I are similar. I much prefer a solid story mode over competitive multiplayer. Destiny is very much story centric. What make is cool is the fact that other Guardians are running around doing their own thing while you’re doing yours. You’re free to help them out at anytime even if they’re doing an entirely different mission.
Finally read Batman: Year One
Colors and art were cool… kind of a watercolorish look. Plot was ok w/ decent writing, but Frank Miller uses to many news casts.
Thoughts? Saw the commercial for the first time last night.
I’ve heard nothing but good things about this game.
I always wanted a great game from this movie franchise.
Kind of like LOR there has never been a really good game.
I’ve been hearing good things about the new LOR game too. Shadow of Mordor I think it’s called.
Same here. But I was hoping someone has put hands on the game.

Uh Maya is going to San Antonio this weekend to visit Kayla…you may have a visitor
I never played metal gear… but all those sneaking around games get old to me. I think I’m to cautious, so it takes me forever.
I read batman: the killing joke … overrated, I think. Good art, especially the coloring, but the story was kinda meh and it didn’t quite nail the tone.

I agree Moore is overrated but the fact that Batman actually killing the joker and making it past DC censors does make me chuckle a little when I thumb through it at the local shop
