With the issue of water and gatorade, i use to drink alot of water but found out it was contaminated with something, nothing major but something to make me not wanna drink it, they said they have it fixed but ive been getting 64 ounce bottles of gatorade and drinking them instead of water ive heard gatorade was better for you than water, what does everyone think?
yeah, if you really like lots of empty calories–from high fructose corn syrup mostly, the worst kind of “sugar”.
I think someone did a great job of selling you on Gatorade…
Maybe you could buy bottled water or something if you wanted water? If you need electrolytes, then fine, but I don’t think Gatorade qualifies as “good for you” or “better for you” than much of anything.
Agree with Joe. But there is that Gatorade fitness water with only a few calories. Propel it’s called. Listen to the D-Tap with Dr. Lowery in the T-Radio section. They talk about it there I think.
Last I checked gatoraide doesnt have HFCS, although poweraide does. But yeah I’m sure it has some form of sugar and empty calories.
i see what you all are saying, and i have drunk propel, different flavors during the day and then gatorade and juices and the same as everyone protein drinks, but it only has 400 calories for 64 oz. with pottasium and electrolytes and all that, but i guess ill get propel and water, thanks everyone…
I usually water it down and drink it after practices etc. for electrolytes. Water is probably your best bet though.

Just had one yesterday and it does.
Get the powder and mix it yourself with water. No HFCS, moslty Dexotrose and MaltoD, I somtimes drink it during if I am on Surge reserve mode.
nothing wrong with drinking gatorade during your workouts. keeps your blood sugar, therefore maintaining performance.
when blood sugar and glycogern go down, so does performance.
i always drink gatorade mix with creatine during my workouts.
not all gatorade has HFCS; the newer types(dont even know how new they are) have glucose-syrup adnd fructose-syrup. better things can be used to get in the calories/carbs, but gatorade is fine around workouts, especially the powder.
If you’re looking for electrolytes, grab some Smart Water instead. It has potassium, calcium and magnesium.
ingredients: water, sucrose syrup, glucose fructose syrup, ctric acid, etc etc etc etc…
Gatorade if fine to drink during workouts. Its no big deal and it will keep you going. I would second the purchasing of the powder packages, because they have a better chemistry. The bottles are actually highly concentrated and the general consensus is to dilute each bottle in half with water. If you bought the packs you could just use 1/2 servings and its much easier.
if you compare two groups of similar subjects during long enough and intense enough exercise <i.e. over an hour>, one group with water and one group with some time of gatorade drink with creatine, which group do you think will be able to maintain performance for a longer period of time?
