The doctors are saying that I have to gain 10lbs in the next month (I am 5’ 11" and weighed in at 118 with clothes on the other day) or I have to go to an institution for help.
However, I don’t have any access to weights except on Saturdays and Sundays. I do swimming for 70-80 minutes at a pretty good intensity each day (swimming around 1800-2300meters each day).
If I just eat healthy, obviously enough to gain weight, will the weight I gain just be fat, or will my exercise allow growth for muscles…?
First of all, your doctors are demanding you to gain 10lbs in 1 month? I know you’ve had eating problems and all, but they should know 10lbs in one month isnt the best thing for you.
Anyway, yes. You can. And as for only having weights 2 days a week, you can build muscle with bodyweight exercises.
As for 10lbs in a month, you dont have to eat clean. You can have half your meals be dirty, you’ll still be fine.

You didn’t just write that, did you? You honestly told someone who is STARVING that gaining 10lbs in one month is not good for him? By far, that is the dumbest advice I have heard on this forum…in DAYS. Because of dumb advice like this, no one with any real physical/mental problems should try to get advice over the internet. Someone as turned around as this guy is will be bound to listen to you and actually believe that he should not gain the weight.
Friedrice, you have some kind of monkey on your back.
You’ve got to free yourself of the notion that you need to be so damned lean for some reason.
You are going to, if you haven’t already, suffer serious health consequences. Leaner is not better. Leaner is emaciated. I don’t know what has skewed your view of these things, but learn to see ‘healthy’ when you see it.
At some point, when you realize that popular portrayals of ‘desirable’ by the media are actually unhealthy people who at times are risking their health and longevity, you’ll better be able to realize you have wandered well off the beaten path.

Yeah I told this guy in one his threads that I normally wouldn’t advise anyone I wasn’t trying to kill that eating a lot of just about anything he could get his hands on would be healthier than what he was doing to himself.
This guy needs help from somebody and while I’m not normally a big fan of the kind that is often gotten from institutions for things like this, in his case SOMETHING has to change.
I’m not going to be a dick. I’ve gone that route, and it didn’t seem to help.
If you can only lift twice per week, that’s fine. Do it.
If you eat healthy food, at your weight, it will all be muscle. If you are swimming and lifting, all of your gains will be good weight, and your muscles will grow.
You can easily gain 10lbs if you eat enough and stop looking in the mirror all the time.
If you don’t gain 10lbs I think you should take the doctor up on his offer to help you. They can help you with understanding your disorder and provide you with all the right foods.
At 5’11" and 118lbs, if you lose any more weight, you will absolutely ruin your body. The effects will be with you forever. If you can’t do this on your own (and no you don’t have a great track record thus far), seek professional help.
Why must you keep asking the same questions over and over again when people have already told you what you should do. Eat more, lift more, and sleep more.
Also you keep worrying about when you gain the weight you will gain some fat as well WHO CARES you are severely underweight. Just eat, and if your having trouble getting in all the calories(because you have been eating nothing for the past couple years) for some reason, I would say quit swimming.
Just look at your previous posts and the responses there and you have more than enough information. Oh and one more thing EAT.
Alright…first of all im assuming you dont have any health problems aside from being so damn skinny. So i’ll try to give some advice.
A) Stop swiming so damn much, 70-80 minutes?
I used run that much and it kept me looking like a stick. Quit doing that is the first thing.
B) Lift twice a week, total body training since you cant really work a good split on only 2 days.
C) Eat motherfucker, eat!
