Furious Angels Video

There was one kick to the head with a guy wearing wrestling shoes… OW
Having kicked and been kicked while wearing wrestling shoes, I can say it’s actually not as bad as getting kicked while barefoot (unless you block a side kick and the sole of the shoe scrapes against your arms (or face, yikes!)).

CroCop (the guy doing the kicking) wore the shoes because he knew he’d be throwing that kick against Hunt (the kickee) several times and wanted to protect his feet.

Hunt took that kick and kept walking forward!

What the hell ever happened to sportsmanship?

I saw some nasty shit on that video.

Stuff like headstomping, heel to temple.

That doesn’t make you a badass, it makes you a piece of shit that should never be able to compete again.

It’s one thing to beat the crap out of someone, it’s another to do stuff that could permanently maim or kill them.

My 2 cents.
It’s a fucking fight, pussy.

So I guess Pride alows u to wear footware and kick? Not UFC though?

Why do you call everyone a pussy?

Forrest Griffin in his post fight interview against Tito said that he threw a kick to Tito’s injured knee and felt like a douchebag for doing so and avoided hits to the knees altogether from then on. That is class.

Point of reference, someone stomps my head, or takes advantage of an old wound of mine to try to permanently injure me, they better kill me, because when I get up, I am putting them in the hospital.

I’m in no way, shape, or form a “pussy.”

I don’t have to pretend to be hard by thinking that unsportsman-like barbarism is cool.

Hm. I thought Pride allowed shoes, but no kicking while wearing them, but their offical rules don’t even mention shoes.

UFC/NSAC does not allow shoes at all.

Those are some fighting M-F–kers

If someone is stomping on your head, you’re not really in a position to be talking about sending other people to the hospital. In any case, it’s a good thing that you’re realizing all of this now…it would be a shame for you to realize it as you’re getting your ass handed to you in the ring/cage. Not everyone can handle fighting and the dangers associated with it.

That was some video.

Anyone know what happened to the guy getting driven into the mat headfirst at the very end of the clip?

He sat up and within 30 seconds locked a Kimura on Randleman for the win.

Seriously. It was Randleman vs. Fedor. One of the greatest fights ever. I have no idea how Fedor survived, let alone didn’t get hurt.

Some of that what quite un-necessary, and I don’t like playing the nay-sayer. I enjoy watching MMA, civilized (maybe that’s an oxymoron) MMA where the people’s lives aren’t in fuckin’ danger.

And I will get up. I’ve never had my ass handed to me. If someone starts fighting dirty I’ll get dirtier.

Consider your eyes gouged out.

And shit, getting in your CAR is dangerous, but it’d be a lot more dangerous if some asshole was riding aruond in a tank trying to kill people.

The tank shouldn’t be on the road, and some of those guys should be caged instead of encouraged.

He won the fight. Fedor Emelianenko, current pride heavyweight champion and probably the toughest man alive at this point.

I have that fight on DVD. Randleman, I don’t think, was in the best state of mind. I believe something serious happened to his father shortly before, I don’t remember what. After the suplex he got careless and got cought.

You are the toughest man alive, and we bow to you. In your illustrious street fighting career, in which you were always a gentleman, never did a professional fighter put you in one of those “objectionable” positions.

Somebody destroys you with totally legal and agreed upon techniques, in a sanctioned fighting event, and you’re going to kill them?

Civilized MMA? Lives not in danger? What planet are you from? Again, punches, knees, and kicks to the head are potentially lethal. Slamming an opponent to the ground is highly dangerous. Yet you choose to pass judgement on select “dirty” fighters.

There are plenty of people who share similar views, and feel that submissions and grappling in general is dirty compared to pure standup. This is a perfectly fine opinion to have.
They’re just not MMA fans.

I never claimed to be super tough, I just don’t have to front being hard by screaming to the mountain tops that I love seeing blood in fights, etc.

I’ve fought in the real world and I’ve fought in kickboxing and have never found it necessary to hurt someone beyond a few bruises in either.

Fuck legality, it’s not cool to do some of that stuff.

If you wanna win that bad you’re seriously lacking in the human compassion department.

Please forgive me if I’m not the most badass of badass of the MMA goons.

Now go pretend to be a badass to the kiddies in the gym when you’re squatting a whole 2 plates.

I fail to see how support of legal and useful techniques leads to goon status.

It’s not cool to you? That’s fine. The issue is you going beyond that and passing judgement on professional fighters who violate nothing but your own sense of morality.

“I never claimed to be super tough”

Then what was all that jabber about not getting put into a situation like the ones you despise, and coming back and putting your opponents in the hospital?
I must have imagined all of that.

Kickboxing is a great sport. You enjoy it, as a fan and participant. You enjoy MMA until it becomes unfamiliar, illegal in your sport, and therefore it is bad bad stuff.
